Today, is take your kid to work day.

We go with mi ma a lot but not today.

“Jade, I’m ready” That’s what I say. I just got done putting on my shoes. “I need someone to tie my shoes.”

“Ask your sister to do it.” Jade yells from upstairs.

I hate asking her for help. I’m older. I should be helping her. I’m the boss. So I do what bosses do. “No I want you!”

“Trinity I can’t right now” she puffs out “I’m trying to get organized. Can you really do me a favor and ask your sister?”

I don’t want to ask her. Her bunnies go in the hole easy. My bunnies get tangled. I hate the shoes. I walk over to my sister. “Hayden, whatcha doing?”

“Stuff” is all she tells me. She can be rude sometimes. She didn’t even move her head to look at me. She is too busy playing with that stupid puzzle book.

“Can you do me a favor?” I ask nicely

She looks at me. “What?”

“My bunnies wont go in the hole. They just fight and tangle with each other. Can you tie my shoes? Jade wont do it. Oh yea….. PLEASE?”

 “Yeah. I guess.” She jumps down from her chair and kneels in from of me. “Watch me, okay?” I nod. “You make two bunny ears. Wrap it around and run one through the hole then pull. Now you do it.” I do it but it’s not perfect like her. I mean hers but it works.

Jade runs down the steps to us. “Are you ready girls?”

“Yup” we tell her shaking our heads up and down. We leave out of the house. Now we’re going to her job. She calls it a studio. It’s not like mi-ma’s studio with music stuff. She has a lot of drawings and fabric sharp stuff and what not. It sucks what we’re about to do but it most be done. Hehe.

“Ok, did you bring the cd and your homework?” We nod. “Let’s go then remember to stay in the office while I work. I have to try to make this deadline. Behave and you’ll have fun.”

When did behaving become fun? Last time I check it was no fun. If you look in the dictionary I’m pretty sure fun isn’t what it means. As we walk to the office in the studio I whisper to Hayden “Is behaving fun?”
