You Belong With Me – (Chapter: Chapter 1: Introductions…)
You Belong With Me
Okay… so let me tell you a little about myself. I’m Spencer Carlin, I just turned 17, and it is the summer before my senior year (finally!). I grew up in a small suburban town outside Dayton, Ohio. Right before high school though, my mom, Paula, got a better job offer in LA to be director of the ER… naturally she took it being the work-aholic she is. I have two older brothers each a year older than the other, Glen the middle child (who is sort of an ass, but I’ve really opened up to him and vice versa over the past couple years after the move) and Clay, the oldest (who is the sweetest guy ever and has stuck by me through everything, and he is adorable with his girlfriend who will inevitably become my sister-in-law at some point or another…but more on her later). And last but not least is my dad… He is seriously the best person in the world. I could go on forever how much I love him, but anyway most people just call him Arthur, or Art, or Mr. C, some even call him Jim and he would respond (he kind of looks like Jim Mora- the Colts coach before Dungy)… anyway, he is the school guidance counselor for my high school, King High, even though he could be a cook at a 5-star restaurant, he chooses to help other people…see he really is the nicest guy ever and I have always felt a stronger bond with him than my mom.
So…that pretty much sums up my life, well I guess I left out I have two dogs, Brownie and Duchess, and I don’t really play any sports but I like to run, almost every day. I’m a big fan of school stuff… I guess you can say I get along with almost everyone at King. I love going to the basketball games to support Glen and football games (I used to go for Clay, but now he’s in college at Stanford- he still plays, he is just really smart too but he still visits a lot) but I do like seeing everyone out and hanging out with my friends doing whatever… I’m pretty laid back (most of the time) … I’m friends with a lot the guys on the basketball team so I guess that’s what really brought me closer to Glen. Oh yeah and the reason Glen is still around is because when we moved the age cut off was different and so he is still almost a year older than me, but we’re both seniors.
