ANNABELL IN THE CHAPEL:

 Annabelle walks into an empty and quiet chapel and sits in one of the pews. Eyes tired and red from crying, she has no ideal as to why she came into the chapel. She just needed a place to think, get herself together. As she sits there she thinks, how do one go about asking God for help. She starts talking out loud in a low tone of voice to God, “ I don’t know much about praying, I just know my heart hurts and I need some one to talk to”. Then she remembers that during one of Father Harris’s sermons, didn’t he say that God is every where, so where was God when Simone needed him this morning? Just when Annabelle is about to give up hope in prayer, Father Harris walks into the chapel.

Father Harris had seen Annabelle go into the chapel and knew that something was troubling her. He walks over and sits next to her and ask, “what is troubling you, my child”. Annabelle at a loss for words do not know what to say to him, instead she falls into his arms and starts to cry loudly as if she had lost a love one. Father Harris embraces her with such fatherly love and lets her cry out her hurt and pain. While in his arms he realizes that she is crying for Simone, who was taken away by federal police this morning. Knowing that Annabelle would not talk, he knew he had to say something to ease this child’s mind. “ you know, you remind me of a young student from here from many years ago, her name was Amanda”. Annabelle sit frozen, and by the response of her body, he knew that she knew about Amanda. “ I can’t tell you everything, but just know that Simone loves you, and when the time is right, you two will be back together”. Annabelle sits there in shock and disbelieve as to what she just heard. Does he know the depth of love that she and Simone have for each other? She looks into his eyes and says to herself, “he knows”. He pats her on the hand and tells her that he is leaving her to do what she came in here to do. Father Harris gets up to walk out, he turns to see Annabelle with her eyes closed, head down and hands fold.
