Forgiveness ****Chapter 4 – Love or Lust?****

Dana headed home to await Lara’s return. She angrily paced the livingroom floor at least a dozen times before her legs finally gave way and she sat down.

After Dana had been left to her own devices for several hours, a key clicked in the door and it opened to reveal none other than her beautiful sous chef. Lara was still adorned in one of her many chef’s uniforms and Dana couldn’t help but sigh happily. Yep, it still sent tingles all through her body to see Lara dressed like that. Who was she kidding? Seeing her in anything, or nothing at all, even thinking about her roused all the right tingles.

Lara caught Dana gazing adoringly in her direction.

Dana slowly gave Lara the once-over, taking in every beautiful ingredient that made for the perfect dish. “You’re still wearing your uniform.” Dana grinned.

“Oh, yeah. I thought we could have a bit of fun with it later.” She walked over and sat next to Dana on the couch, pulling her chin up for a passionate kiss.

“I’ve been wanting to do that all day.”

Dana couldn’t stop her face from turning all the many shades of red. She’d left all the day’s worries at the door.

“Oh, I almost forgot, how’d everything with Pen go? I hope you played nice.”

Dana cracked. All her worries came rushing back and her expression noticeably changed to reflect this.

    “What’s wrong Dana?”

“What’s wrong?! You mean apart from the fact you were dating a girl for nine months before me and you didn’t see fit to tell me? Geez, that’s practically an engagement!”

    “Oh, sweetie, let me explain.”

But Dana was blinded by her own jealousy now. “And..and to make matters worse, you went out for coffee with her, ALONE, and couldn’t even call?!”

“Dana, I don’t want to do this, not now…”

“When then? When the next ex comes a-knocking?! I really wanna be with you Lara, but I don’t know if I can handle this. You know I love you, no, I’m in love with you…but I need to know everything about you for this to work.”

Dana’s mood had obviously taken a turn for the worse, and Lara was saddened by this. “Well what do you want to know?”

    “Everything…”

“Um…I was born and raised here, and here’s where I’ll stay, with you…if you’ll let me.”

After that admission, Dana couldn’t help but shed a tear. “I need to know about…about all your relationships. You know my history, and you’re the most meaningful, wonderful thing that’s ever happened to me.”

At this stage they were both in tears.

“Dana, I love you so much! I hope you know that whatever happens I’ll always love you. I know that’s clich, but it’s the truth.”

They looked adoringly into each other’s eyes.

“And…and as far as my relationship-history goes, my time with you has definitely been the best chapter. I didn’t tell you about Pen or any of the others because I didn’t want to scare you away.”

The others? How many girls were there before her? The green eyed monster was rearing its ugly little head again. It didn’t get much spotlight though, for soon Dana dismissed these hostile thoughts. What was she thinking? It was immaterial how many there had been. Of course there was more than one, her beautiful, wonderful, open Lara was bound to have had many suitors before her and Dana had still come out on top! She knew that she would end the long line here and now. At this thought, Dana beamed.

“Nothing you could ever say or do would scare me away.”

After another lasting gaze into each other’s eyes Dana and Lara sweetly embraced one-another for what seemed like a lifetime.

Lara was the first to break the silence. “Okay, let me start with…”

But Dana put a finger to her lips before she could finish. “Shhh, tomorrow. Right now I want to see what you have planned involving that cute uniform of yours.

They both grinned as Dana closed the blinds.”
