The Year: 2005 of May, the ninth. The Meet: A friendly game of Tennis(?) The Location: The Country Club The Setting(s): Bette and Alice at the tennis court (waiting). Dana and Tina in the locker room (changing). ——————————————————– Bette and Alice is sitting on the bleachers. Bette: Alice! (starts laughing) Stop fidgeting. Why are you so nervous? We’re, here, just play to a friendly game of Tennis with your girlfriend, right? Alice: (at this time, has been checking her watch over a hundred times, and been turning, back and forth, to look at the entrance(or exit) door to see if her girlfriend is here yet) I know, Porter, but this is big! She’s going to introduced me to her best friend!. That means, our relationship is getting serious! Bette: (turning, to look at her friend, in the eyes) Oh, I get it, it’s not her friend that’s making you nervous. It’s you….yours (pointing to Alice’s heart)….Well, let me ask you something, do you feel good when you’re with her? And do you want this relationship to go to that next level? Alice: (nervously averted her eyes for a moment, then came back to smile at her friend, looking at her with all sincerity, and said) Yeah. I love the time that I spent with her. (shaking her head, as she ansewered) I mean, I know, it has only been two month, but I, I think I …. love her. (paused for a moment, then realizing what she had said) Oh my God! I love her. (starts to hyperventilate) Oh My God, I love her! ( looking at Bette) What if she doesn’t feel the same way? Bette: (starts laughing) Alice! (placing her hand on Alice’s back, lightly stroking it, to soothed Alice’s breathing) Calm down. Al. I’m sure she’s feeling exactly what you’re feeling. (smiled, brought her hands up, and gently cupped Alice’s face, with her thumb gliding ever-so-softly on Alice’s cheeks, reassuring Alice, and said) Listen, Al, you’re a BRILLANT woman, a BEAUTIFUL woman, and if she can’t see that, then it’s her lost. (kissed Alice on the forehead) Alice: (raised her head up to look at her friend, and smiled) Thank You, Bette. (lean in and hugged Bette) Bette: (welcomes the hug, but moments later) Okay, Al, you have to let me go now! (trying to shake Alice off her shoulder, while Alice is simply finding satisfation and comfort on resting her head on her friend’s shoulder. Bette tries to shake her off, again, but Alice, who has a sickenly grinned, splastered on her face… did not move, Alice knows she have to treasures these moments, the very few moments , when Bette and her are sharing and showing their affections to one another… without the bickering, bantering, and teasing. Alice loves it when Bette is like this, the whole world, or at least the West Hollywoood Community, thinks she’s a heartless *****, who does whatever, or whoever, she wants. Alice didn’t see it that way, Bette is a loving, caring, and passionate person. Bette is Alice’s best friend, and Alice is Bette’s best friend….. Bette, unwilling to admit, knows why Alice is hugging her like this, and won’t let her go. She knows, that she doesn’t allow Alice to see this side of her, too often, and when she does… Alice wants to make it lasted. So, Bette, would always let her hold her until she lets her go…but this time, Alice was holding on way tooooooo long… with that, Bette, who still had her arms around Alice’s back, hugged her tightly one last time, causing Alice to loosen the bear hug, that she had on her. And quickly pull back, causing Alice to fall flat faced on the bleacher.) Alice: (pulling her body up, to the postion she was before, rubbing the side of her face, that had, made contact with the bleacher) Hey, why did you do that? Why did you pulled back? Bette: (sitting there as nothing has happened, pulled her shades from the top of her head, where it has been resting, to her eyes. She smiled, and said) Sorry, Al, I have a facade and reputations to keep up. ( Truth be told, Bette eye’s was starting to tear, that’s why she had to pull back) Alice: (still rubbing the side of her face) Yeah, yeah, whatever Porter. Sheesh! Bette: (teasing) Hey, Al? If you’re like this already, what would happen, if you meet her parents? Alice: (after hearing that, she fell back on the bleachers) OH MY GOD!… her parents! (Bette bursts into laughters) Bette: Oh, Al, one more thing. ( Alice didn’t move her body, rather just lift her head up to listen) Dana’s friend, she going to be here, right? Alice, smiled. It’s was her time to reassure Bette. Alice thought, ” I can’t believe Porter, agreed to this, and she’s, actually, anxious to meet her. I don’t ever remember Bette being anxious. ” Alice, chuckled at her own thought. Bette looked at her, strangely, wondering what Alice was thinking. ———————————————————————- Dana and Tina in the locker room, finished changing. Dana: Kennard! (Tina did not reply) T.K , are you finished? Tina: (walks out of the bathroom) Yeah, I’m ready! Dana: (checking her friend out) Well, Kennard, can’t you find a skirt that would, at least, cover your crotch? ( starts laughing) Tina: (blushing, a playfully hit Dana) Shut up, Dane! You’re exaggerating. It’s not that short. (twirl) Dana: (joking, but with a ping of seriousness and said) Yeah, whatever, Kennard. You just better not try to seduce my girlfriend, now ? Tina: (could pick up the hint of insecurity, and said) Don’t worry, Dane. If she’s into you, that means she doesn’t want any of this SEXINESS! Dana: (knows what her friend is doing, and starts laughing, relieved) Whatever, Kennard. You wished, you could have me, or better yet, be me! Tina: (smile) You right, I wish, I were you. So, I could find the same happiness, that you had found in Alice. (walks to her friend, and kissed her on the forehead) So, tell me, why did it take you so long to introduce me to your girl, huh? Dana: I don’t know, I guessed, I just want to make sure that…. (look away) Tina: What? What is it? Dana: (turn back to look at her friend, and smile) I just want to make sure that it’s… LOVE. Tina: LOVE? (cheerily) You love her? (Dana shook her head) Wow, I’m so happy for you! ( hugging her friend) This is great! Dana: (still holding her friend, but raised her wrist up, to check the time) Kennard, as much as I love to stand here and hold you, my friend, but I don’t want them to wait. Tina: (happy to abide, and pulled away) All right, lets go, but we got to celerbrate later! (as they were heading out of the locker room, Tina came to an immediate stop) Dana, can I ask you something? ( Dana, a little annoy, because she didn’t want to be late, just shook her head, trying to hurried the conversations) I was wondering, why am I meeting your girlfriend here, instead, over a nice dinner, or something? And why did she bring her friend? Dana: Well, if you must know. Her frie (cutted off by Tina) Tina: (pointing at Dana) Uh, huh! You’re trying to hook me up, huh? You know, I HATE getting hooked up! Dana: (starts laughing, nervously) No, Kennard. Now, if you could just listen and let me talk, so I could go see my girlfriend. Like I was saying a minute ago, she has a friend, and her friend… claims that she could kick my ***** in Tennis, and so, I want to see if she can. ( Dana knows, that was a fib. She and Alice has plans on setting Tina up for Bette.) Tina: Wow, she said that? Who do she think she is? I mean, don”t she know who you are? You’re a professional Tennis player! Dana: (nervous, because she had lied to her friend, but she must continue on with the lie) I KNOW, RIGHT? ( looking away, nervously laughing) Anyway, come on, can we go now? Tina: Yeah, sure, Dane. (as Dana had her hand on the door handle, about to open, Tina said) And Dane, don’t worry, let me handle her… I can kick her ***** for you! With that, Tina grabbed the handle of the door, where as, Dana had let it go, and Tina exit, Dana stood there for a second, unaware of what she had unleashed to the tennis court. She thought, ” Oh my god, why didn’t I just tell her the truth, that Alica and I are trying to hooked them up. I hope, Bette can handle Kennard… Damn you, Alice, you and you’re ridiculous plan. Why did I agreed to it?”. A few seconds, later, Dana exited. TBC…. ( I’m sorry I have to end it like this, there was actually more to this chapter, where Tina and Dana goes out to meet Bette and Alice, but I don’t like looooong chapters. So, I decided to make that into chapter three. So, please, do not give up on me yet. Bette and Tina will meet in chapter three. Also, I want to clear any confusions (if there’s any) on this chapter… (a quick background) Alice and Dana, who’s been dating for two month, had decided to make their relationship “offical” by, finally, introducing each other to their best friend. Even though, they talked about their best friend, none has seen or met the others’ best friend. However, the more they talk about their best friends, they see that, Bette and Tina has a lot in common. So, they ( or shall I say Alice) decided to play cupids, and try to hook them up. Alice’s plan was to get them to meet each other, at least. Since, Dana knows that her friend hated the idea of getting set up, so a typical dinner date wouldn’t do, so Alice came up with the idea, a friendly game of Tennis. Dana agreed to it, because she and Tina plays Tennis all the time. Though, Dana knows her friend too well, and knows that Tinas will be suspicious… to why it’s just her, Dane, Alice, and Alice’s friend. Then’s when Alice, told Dana to say ( if Tina does asked her why it’s just the four of them, which she did) that Bette thinks she could beat Dana…… and that’s it….. oh, yeah, Alice did tell Bette, that she wants to set up Bette with Tina. Alice, did not want to lie to Bette, and later on, feel the wrath of Bette Porter, if she knows that it was a set up. But to Alice’s suprised when she told Bette about Dana’s friend, TINA KENNARD, Bette agreed to the set up….. and now, they’re heading out to play a friendly game of Tennis.. (I hope, I didn’t confuse you even more) * READERS, why do you think Bette agreed to this “hooked up” so easily ?*
