The consequences of learning how to fly…

“How could I have been so stupid” Marissa Cooper muttered to herself and she sat on the curb with her head in her hands. “Stupid enough to let her walk out of your life, stupid enough to think you wouldn’t care, stupid enough to chase her to L.A in the middle of the night when you have absolutly NO idea where in this city to look..you’ve really proven yourself brilliant this time Marissa” she continued speaking to herself not even noticing she was actually on a busy sidewalk at 12 am on a saturday.
-I know..i’ll just walk into each and every ***** club, bar and hangout I come to..eventually someone will be able to point me in the right direction- this was the genius plan Marissas mind was formulating at midnight on a saturday in a city she really had no idea about. As it turned out she wouldn’t have to look far…as Marissa was sitting on the sidewalk she heard giggling from behind her and her heart lept -I would know that sound anywhere that laugh that is really and truly only Alex- she wanted to throw herself at her girlfriend, apologize, beg for forgiveness anything to get the girl that she now knew she loved back. Marissa turned around and her heart dropped walking down the sidewalk was her beautiful girlfriend with her arm around the waste of another woman. Marissa didn’t know what to do so she quietly followed them without being seen. Marissa knew just from looking at this woman that there was no way she could compete with her…where marissa was a seventeen year old rich socialite from Newport Beach this girl looked to be at least twenty-five and the only word to describe her was “edgy”. Marissa knew that edgy was bad because Alex was a rebel at heart, she did things her own way and Marissa knew just by looking at this girl that Alex was in good company. -god this is so weird…I cannot believe i’m stalking my own girlfriend. EX girlfriend Marissa- she reminded herself grimly. Suddenly she looked up and realized that Alex was hugging the girl goodbye. The girl kissed alex on the forehead and said “I’m not coming home tonight..i’ll see you at the Planet in the morning”. Marissa froze “Home? Home? Who the *****’s home are you talking about?” she wanted to yell out, but she couldn’t. She just decided one thing -I will NOT return to Newport without Alex at any cost..tonight i’ll get a hotel room and tomorrow I will be at “the planet” whatever the ***** that is-. With that Marissa gave one last sad glance back at her girlfriend heading to a “home” that belonged to this other girl -and- Marissa flinched outwardly at the thought -what if it’s “home” for alex to..what has she been hiding? Who is this girl? Why does alex want her and not me?- Marissa gave up overthinking and went in search of a hotel. She stumbled into the Hilton about 45 minutes later exhausted. “One please…” “Just the night?” asked the lady behind the counter “I don’t know” Marissa said “do you think I can win back my girlfriends heart from the hot rebel girl that stole it in just one day?”
