Oh! Alice knew Helena walking in to Tinas room would cause Bette to fly through the roof and she felt sort of obligated to at least try and stop that from happening. But she also felt in her gut it would be difficult preventing Helena to visit Tina. Ive been there just now myself.

How is Tina? And the baby? Are they all right? I understand things became complicated. The anxiety and genuine concern in Helenas voice surprised Alice. She had never thought about Tina and Helena as long term. She had basically seen Helena as a necessary evil in Tinas recovery process. And as an obstacle for her friends to get back together. But now, for the first time she realized that there might have been more than just a rebound thing. At least for Helena.

Its fine. Theyre both fine. Alice assured her. She noticed the dark haired woman draw a sigh of relief.

Oh, well, that is good news! Helena smiled. If youll excuse me, Alice Helena started walking towards the elevators. Alice felt slightly panicked and followed her, walking backwards fast, and almost tripped over her own ankles.

Actually um Helena, that might not be such a good idea. Alice spoke fast, putting her hand on the other womans arm, as a gesture for her to stop. And Helena did. She stopped dead and stared right into the blondes eyes. Alice felt a bit uncomfortable with Helenas eyes fixating her own. The British womans gaze were now frosty and demanding an explanation. But Alice became so nervous about this starring contest that she forgot the clever line she had planned. It was finally Helena who spoke up.

And why is that? If I may ask. That was not really a question, more of a request. A request that could not be denied an answer.

Because, you know, Bettes there now and I know theres been a bit of tension between the two of you
