    Sharmen: I Gotta Go… [Tidbit]

    Chapter 44

Shane walked around the house, her feet gently rubbing the hardware and she yawned. It was bliss to feel this good. But there was an empty pang in her stomach even though she had just eaten. It had been a week since her third official dinner at the Morales’. Carmen and her mother had talked things over, her mother being loads calmer now. Shane was glad that the two were starting to get things back on track and had come to better terms. Carmen was at her house now, and Shane missed her. Sometimes she missed her so much, her heart ached, and she felt like it was a bit harder to breathe. This was one of those times.

Shane chew thoughtfully on a piece of toast in her mouth. It tasted dull and so boring that it was hard for her to swallow. But in the end, after several minutes of chewing and coaxing herself, she was able to. She looked across the kitchen as she entered it and saw Jenny sitting playfully on Moira’s lap as Carmen always did to Shane. Her face wanted to drop but she wouldn’t allow it so instead her stomach did a little. She looked at the toast as if asking it ‘why do you torture me so?’ It didn’t answer her back so she sighed and threw it in the bin.

She rubbed her hands together and her eyes laid upon an apple. It would keep her mouth busy and not upset her testy stomach further. She picked it up and couldn’t be bothered to wash it, instead trudged back to her room. It was were she liked to spend her time when Carmen wasn’t around.

Stop being a ***** Shane! She screamed to herself as she closed the door and leaned back into it. She was sick of this, and if Carmen was busy, she wasn’t going to walk around thinking about her, she was going to distracted her mind so that their time together would be sweeter. She picked up the bright blue phone on the desk and pressed 2 on the speed dial, Alice picked up after the third ring.

    “Hello?”

    “Hi, am I interrupting something?”

“Uh no. Why do you- Kay, how do you do that?” Alice asked with a laughing noise deep in her voice. Shane smiled and threw her legs over her half-egg shaped chair as she bit into her apple.
