Chapter 148                                                                                                 

Bette comes back and takes a seat next to Tina. Tina also put Noah down in his bouncer so she can give Bette her full attention.

She takes Bette’s hands in hers.

“Babe, I don’t think moving away will remove the things you are feeling. It might make it worse.” Tina says and looks into her eyes.

“Worse?” Bette asks curiously.

“Yeah, a new place, a place where you are not familiar with. Bette if you want a safe place for us, you’re not going to find it, unless you build us a bubble to live in, like that movie ‘the Truman show’, and I don’t want to live like that.” Tina says and move her hand up to Bette’s face and softly wipes away a few stray tears.

Bette looks down on her lap. After a few seconds.

“I just know that I don’t want to feel like this anymore. It won’t go away.” Bette says as she starts to cry louder.

“Babe, look at me.” Tina says and lifts Bette’s cheek up. “It will go away, you just have to give it time. I’ll help you in any way I can. We can even go see a therapist, I’ll come with you, or you can go by yourself. You decide. I honestly don’t think running away from it, will make it go away. Babe, we’ll get through this too. Okay?” Tina says and looks into Bette’s eyes.

Bette just leans in and lay her head down on Tina’s shoulder. Tina put her arms around her and softly runs her fingers through Bette’s hair. “We’ll get through this.” She whispers. She listens to Bette’s breathing becoming heavier. She’s asleep.

Tina gently kisses her forehead and after a few minutes, she carefully gets out from under Bette and lay her down. She then places a blanket over her.

She silently picks up Noah and takes him into the nursery, hoping and praying that Daniel won’t wake up. She put Noah down in his crib and then walks back to get Daniel, who was still asleep. Noah is awake, but his smiling and only makes giggling sounds and playing with his feet. She stay and play with him for a little while and then she walks back out to Bette. She’s still sleeping. She kneels beside her and leans in and softly kisses her forehead.
