    B&T reconnect 9 years after season 1: The first date

    Both women woke up anxious about their first date. They had agreed not to see each other before the date. Tina had a lot of company at her house to keep her occupied but Bette wasn’t so lucky. She had thought about going to work, but she knew she wouldn’t get any work done. No she decided to go to the Planet, at least there she could spend some time with Kit and probably Shane.

     

    Tina was laying out in the shade, she didn’t want to risk getting sunburned before her date. Alice was laying out beside her while Dana was in the pool with Jack, and Eli was sitting on the pool steps.

     

    Eli turned towards his mom. "Hey mom are you excited about tonight?"

     

    Tina smiled at Eli. She had purposely kept Eli from getting too involved in her love life. She didn’t want him to get attached to women who might not stick around, but admittedly Tina didn’t date much. "Yeah honey I am, but I’m also a little nervous."

     

    "Why it’s only Bette. You guys were together for a long time."

     

    "I know but we were also apart for a long time."

     

    Alice turned on her side towards Tina. "Does it feel like a first date?"

     

    "It does. But the weird thing is that I remember our first date….I had just broken up with Eric and was still a little uncomfortable with being out with a woman."

     

    "This is so exciting you get to have another first date."

     

    "I know and this time I won’t feel awkward about holding her hand or showing her affection."

     

    "Why did it feel weird to hold her hand mom. You always told me that you shouldn’t be embarrassed to be yourself."

     

    Tina looked tenderly towards her son. "Come here honey."

     

    Eli got up out of the pool, and Tina pulled him in so he was laying next to her. Tina brushed over some of Eli’s hair. "That’s right you shouldn’t be ashamed to be yourself, but unfortunately my parents felt it was morally wrong to date the opposite sex. And for most of my life I had dated men exclusively. So when Bette came along…"

    25. Waooo, thanks! Excellent chapter! That was definitely worth the wait. What a treat!… The whole date in the same chapter, a dance, and the long awaited kiss!!! I love the way they’re making progress together. I also liked that you had Tina say “As much as I love you, I won’t give you a third chance”, because that makes their miracle second chance more realistic and precious… And they are both really aware of it. Nicely done!!!

    26. I really wanted to read this last night, but I was so exhausted I just wanted to curl up in bed and go to sleep. This chapter was definitely worth waiting to read. I laughed at Bette saying, “Go away,” to the server. LOL!
