    I Wish CH 26

    In the two weeks following the beach outing, there were many conversations between Bette and Tina. Most involved admissions of fear, of hurt and anguish, and all seemed to end with each having a better understanding of the other. This dialogue was imperative to the well being of the other, and they soon came to realize that they never had talked this openly to any one before, outside of their respective therapists.

     

    Bette sat at a table at the planet one afternoon explaining all of this to Kit.

     

    "It feels so different Kit. It feels like I have found my best friend again after years of being apart."

     

    "Well that’s a good thing isn’t it Baby Girl?"

     

    "It is, except, I am afraid to lose what we have."

     

    "What do you mean? You just said it was going good."

     

    "I know, but I am afraid to take it any where other than where we are right now. I don’t want to ruin a great friendship, I don’t want to lose her again."

     

    "Bette. Do you think she will hang around forever, waiting for you? Is it fair to even ask her to?"

     

    "I’m not asking her to Kit."

     

    "Bette. How do you feel about her? Deep down, how do you really feel about Tina? No Bullshit."

     

    "I…."

     

    Bette’s attention was diverted from Kit to the front counter of the Planet, where Tina ordered herself something from the board behind the counter. Kit noticed Bette’s demeanor change, and her focus deteriorate from their conversation. She followed Bette’s gaze, and then the answer was before her.

     

    "You are still in love with her."

     

    "<sigh> Yeah Kit, I am. But, I am scared to death of her."

     

    Tina finished ordering her lunch, and looked around for a place to sit. She was drawn automatically to the dazzling smile that met her gaze when she spotted Bette. She made her way over to the table where Bette sat with Kit.

     

    "Hey Bette, Kit. How are you?"

     

    "Hi Tina."

     

    "Hey Tee."

     

    "What brings you here today, and where is my gorgeous little niece?

     

    "I had the afternoon off, and Angelica is on a trip to the zoo with the daycare today. She won’t be back until dinner time, so I thought I would stop for some lunch, and then maybe hit the mall for some shopping. How about you guys? What are you up to today?"

    5. I guess that means that Bette is ready to move to the next phase of their relationship. I am glad that you are in the mood to write and post. It makes my day to read a chapter from one of favorite authors.

    13. Hi CDNGal, Great to see the teasing and joking that Bette and Tina are now comfortable enough with each other to partake in. This just shows the trust is there. As for the finale, what a woman, Bette is. She was making no mistake in telling Tina she was now ready to move things forward towards the physical pleasuring plane. Now, how on earth with Tina reply.
