    Forever Friends Ch. 22

    Previously –

Dana knew Alice was still upset and it took a lot for Alice to put it behind her long enough to get Dana through the needle. Though she was upset that Alice was still avoiding her, she was happy that Alice continued to hold her hand.

    Chapter 22 –

It was close to 5:00 pm when Dana and Alice returned to the condo.  There still had been only limited communication between them.  Alice helped Dana into the condo and over to the couch before going to the kitchen to heat some soup for dinner.  Alice returned a few minutes later handing Dana a bowl of soup and sitting in the chair across from her with a bowl of her own.  Dana was surprised when Alice chose to sit in the chair instead of her usual spot on the couch next to her and she was too exhausted to bother trying to hide the hurt she felt.  Dana took a few bites of soup and placed the bowl on the table in front of her.

“Dana you need to eat.”  Alice said glancing over at Dana then her bowl.

Dana leaned back into the couch and pulled the blanket over her.  “I’m not hungry.”

“You never are after chemo, but you know you need to eat to keep up your strength.”

“The chemo has nothing to do with it.”

Alice looked up into Dana’s sad eyes and then down at her feet.  She knew the meaning behind that statement, knew that Dana wasn’t eating because she was upset that they weren’t talking.  Alice finally looked up again when she heard Dana move.  “I’m going to take a shower and go to bed.”  Dana put her hands on her walker and began to stand and fell back on to the couch.

Alice stood quickly and was at Dana’s side in a flash.  “Let me help you.”  Alice helped Dana up and walked with her into the bathroom.  She reached into shower and turned the water on and turned back towards Dana as she was unbuttoning her shirt.  Alice didn’t mean to stare, but she was unable to tear her eyes away from the necklace that still lay around Dana’s neck.  Alice eventually snapped out of her trance and stepped behind Dana to help remove her shirt.  Dana untied the draw string and let her sweatpants fall to the floor.  Alice watched Dana step into the shower before opening the door to leave the bathroom.  “Don’t go.”  Alice stopped and turned around to see Dana sticking her head out of the shower looking weak and shy.

    1. Great update, cougar! So glad the girls talked and seem to have gotten past this bump in the road. They really need each other right now. Alice as much as Dana. Also love that they both feel the attraction — even with Dana in her weakened state. I hope Dana is OK! I am a little concerned about the ending… PPS! And thanks!

    2. Good work. I don’t like seeing Dana in pain. But I like even less seeing Alice and Dana going through it. But they’re still together. Now that kind of love doesn’t break so easy. Good chapter.

    3. Sorry I was unable to comment ch.21 but at least now I can comment again. While reading it I thought about the necklace and here you are bringing it up. I am glad to see that D was able to blurt it out, even though she addressed A as a third person A was so good and attentive to D and I hope D would take Josh’s advice and not wait until everything was perfect. Like MaGoose said, I hope D’s situation is not serious either. I got a little bumped out after watching S5E1. Yep, A has moved on, and Danish is gone for good on the show. Not even any magician can bring her back now. I can only get my daily dose of Danish from you writers. For that, I thank you from the bottom of my heart. Happy New Year!!
