Previously –

“Alice.”  Dana tried to get Alice to look at her but she refused.  Dana shifted and tried to lift Alice’s face to look at her.  “Alice.”  Alice slowly lifted her head to look at Dana with Dana’s assistance.  Dana stared into her tear filled brown eyes and slowly leaned forward closing her own eyes.  Their lips met and stayed together unmoving.  After a moment, Dana slowly ran her tongue along Alice’s lips probing her to deepen the kiss.  The instant their tongues touched they danced together in perfect harmony.  Dana slowly pulled away giving Alice a final peck kiss and pulling her into another embrace.  Dana didn’t want her to see the silent tears rolling down her cheek. 

Chapter 25 –

Dana and Alice continued to sit on the kitchen floor holding each other for a long time not saying a word, just letting the tears flow freely.  Once Alice finally regained her composure enough to move and was able to stop her tears long enough to speak, she told Dana she was going to take a bath and go to bed.  Dana didn’t know what to say.  She knew Alice was emotionally exhausted and needed time to process everything from today so she let her silently walk to her room.  Dana sat at the kitchen table picking at the soup she heated for a long time.  She was trying to absorb everything that happened herself, especially the kiss.   She wasn’t sure why she kissed Alice and knew the timing was horrible, but she did not regret touching her lips to Alice’s.  Each time their lips met Dana’s body would tingle and when their tongues danced together her body felt like it was on fire.  Her body never reacted like that to anyone else even in the heat of the moment.  Dana still could not understand how a simple kiss from Alice set her on fire.  Dana let out a long sigh.

“What the hell are you doing Fairbanks?  As if things weren’t confusing enough you kiss her.”  Dana verbally scolded herself.  Dana finally gave up on trying to eat and put her dish in the sink.  Though her medicine was helping the nausea she still had no appetite.  Dana decided to take a bath herself and try to get some sleep.  She knew Alice wanted to be alone and would probably stay in her room all night so Dana figured she would do the same.  As she walked down the hall she stopped at Alice’s door to check on her.  Alice was not in her room and the bathroom door was shut so Dana continued to walk to her bathroom and start her bath water.
