    Forever Friends Ch. 28

    Previously –

“Really Alice, I am fine.  In fact, I want to go somewhere before we head home.”  Dana couldn’t hide the excitement in her voice.

“You really are feeling better.  Alright, where ever you want to go we shall go.”

    Chapter 28 –

Dana continued to give Alice directions where to go.  No matter how much Alice begged and pleaded, Dana refused to tell her where they were going.

“Come on Dana.  Please tell me where we are going.”  Alice turned toward Dana with her best big brown puppy dog eyes.

“The light is green Al.”  Dana pointed to the stop light they were sitting at.  “You can give me the puppy dog eyes all you want, but I’m still not going to tell you.  I want it to be a surprise.”  Dana smiled, happy to not give in to Alice’s sad eyes.  Alice sighed and turned back to focus on the road.  She couldn’t believe Dana wouldn’t tell her.  The famous puppy dog look always made Dana cave and spill whatever secrets she had.

Another fifteen minutes passed in silence.  Alice continued driving away from the city trying to figure out where Dana was taking her.  Dana continued to smile and enjoy the scenery.  “Turn right at the next road.  When you come to the ‘Y’ go left.  The place will be on the right.”  Alice turned right onto a narrow country road.  She was beginning to wonder if Dana was taking her to a secluded place in the woods to kill her.  They were in the middle of nowhere.  “Dana I love you, but why the hell are you taking me to the middle of nowhere?”  Dana began to laugh and pointed to the left as they reached the split in the road.

Alice was speechless as she pulled into the parking lot and read the sign. ‘Dave’s Tree Farm – You pick it, we deliver it’.  Dana placed her fingers under Alice’s chin and lifted it softly.  “Let’s go find our Christmas tree.”  Alice smiled brightly and jumped out of the car full of enthusiasm.  She ran around the car to help Dana out and bounced toward the gated path with a sign saying, “Xmas Trees This Way”.

    1. What a sweet update, cougar! Love the tree shopping surprise. Poor Alice — she seems to be trying to be so careful to not assume anything with Dana and their relationship. Love the decorating party and the angel on the tree was just perfect. Thanks so much!
