As Shane watched her daughter’s terrified look, she smiled, remembering old times. Sam had always been very close to Carmen, Shane was just along for the ride. But when Carmen left for an entire month, they had a chance to get to know each other, and really create a connection.  A connection that was always easy to have with Dylan, since day one. While Shane was thinking about the bond with her kids, the doorbell rang…

– Dude!!! Why the fuck are you not answering your phone!!!- Alice shouted, part playing part upset.

– Excuse her, she’s just really emotional today…Robbie just told her he’s applying to Yale, so he will leave.-

– Fuck!!! You guys, that’s great!!!- Shane said, with a big smile on her face, both Dana and Alice looked at her as if she was a mental patient. – What.-

– Shane, my son, my baby, will be leaving my house next year… He’s leaving us to go to a fancy school!!!!- Shane’s face turned into a more serious one.

– Ok, I know, it will be hard, I have a son going to college too, remember? But you still have Danny, Kendra and Paul. I only have Sammy left so I’m screwed. – Shane said in the spirit of cheering her friends up. – Where are your kids by the way?-

– Danny and Paul had a soccer game or practice, so they said they would meet us there… Kendra I have no idea, she left the house really early today. – Alice answered. As they were to speak again, Bette and Tina walk trough the door.

– Hey guys! What up? – Bette said, when she noticed Alice’s upset face.

– Alice is whipping about her son leaving her to go to college. – Shane said rolling her eyes. Then she excused herself to go check on Samantha.

As she walked in, she found a beautiful young girl, with long curled hair, a gorgeous long white dress, she got paralyzed, couldn’t believe her eyes. This was her daughter, the one she got to change diapers to, the little girl she had taught how to ride a bike… She was there now, with a bunch of women behind her, smiling at her.

– Wow! How are you? And what have you done to my daughter? – Shane said in a whisper. Carmen who had already changed into a red nightgown and done her hair straight down., walked towards Shane who immediately placed her arms around her waist.  Carmen had the exact same look on her face, they where both in owe.

– Would you guys stop staring? This is awkward enough without you looking at me like I have monkeys on my face. –    Sam said blushing.

– Oh, sorry honey, it’s just…- Just as she was about to finish her sentence, Shane was interrupted by a nock on the window, as everyone in the room turned, Sam walked to get closer, just to see a sign that said: “Look up!” So everyone did, and in the sky there was a sign too, this one said “Happy Birthday Princess, I love you!!!” Shane turned to see Sam with a very particular look on her face, it was terror and anger at the same time. Samantha was shocked, but had a smile on her face, before Shane could say anything Carmen just pulled everyone out of the room to let Sam alone, so she could finish herself.
