CHAPTER 8
As soon as Bette entered the stable, Helena rushed towards her.
"Professor Porter, thank you so much for coming. I’m sorry for holding you back, but I was so worried." The British woman said hurriedly, leading Bette to Esmeralda’s stall.
"It’s alright." Bette reassured her, as she looked through the bars.
The mare was very agitated, and Bette could see that the poor animal was already in labor.
"I see…" She said softly, instantly going into medical mode.
"Right, I will need an apron, and also some dry straw to rub the foal down when it comes." She instructed, her eyes never leaving the mare.
"Andrew…" Helena was gesturing frantically to her butler while Bette listed what she needed.
"I suppose you have gloves… Oh, and I will also need a bucket of hot water." The brunette added, concentrated.
Helena was bustling around Bette, making sure she got all she asked for.
"Good heavens, please let it be a male!" She said as she tied the apron around Bette’s waist.

Tina, Alice and Carmen had finally retreated to the lounge after everyone had left, and collapsed, exhausted, on the large white sofa. Tina was very quiet. Alice had immediately blamed it on her wife’s absence, but when she had then mentionned it, Tina had smiled and declared with good-humor that Esmeralda giving birth was undeniably the only reason since the start of the day that she accepted as legitimate.
So now, watching Tina deeply engrossed in her thoughts, Alice couldn’t help but wonder what was troubling her friend so much… But she decided to let it go for now.
"Wow, never in my life have I seen so many congratulations cards!" Carmen exclaimed, picking the stack of mail lying on the small table.
"And from so many places in the world!" She said excited, before starting enumerating,
"New York… Paris… Buenos Aires… Washington… Geneva… London… Stockholm… Tokyo… Nassau… Paris… Johannesburg… Berlin… Oh, this one is from Sonoma, California…"
The mention of the familiar name pulled Tina out of her reverie and she was on her feet in a wink of an eye, with Alice not very far behind. She took the enveloppe from Carmen and opened it feverishly.
"Wishing all the happiness in the world for my little girl and her spouse. Signed, Charles Kennard." She read, with obvious relief in her voice.
Alice stroked her friend’s back,
"See? He didn’t forget his baby girl!" She said, grinning.

Bette can do it all “super woman” LOL..now Tina needs comfort go for it Bette…I feel a tad bad for Helena and normally I like her but not when she stands in the middle of Tibette love!

You bet befriending Helena isn’t going to make your life easier, Professor Porter ! Hahaha ! Tricky situation, huh ? I knew Bette would end up being Helena’s hero ! Actually, on one hand it’s kind of a funny situation, but on the other hand this is going to make for some intense drama… Definitely the best kind of drama ! Oh, and somehow I confess I wish that Tina would get a little tipsy when Bette is there, that way things could get even more… entertaining… At least for us, readers. On a totally different note, even though that would probably be much of a stretch for now, I would really love for Bette to meet Tina’s pappy sometime. I have a feeling he would be more impressed by Bette than by Tina’s actual wife… ( And I’m sure Bette would love him too since he just wants what’s best for Tina after all ). But to tell you the truth, I kinda like your Helena for she’s kinda clueless and that can be endearing sometimes. At least, it is when it comes to Bette…

Awww. I was happy for Tina that her Pappy sent a card, but that had to hurt even worse when he told her it wasn’t from him. Talk about a major kick to the teeth. :(
At least out of this mess Bette is going to see the woman who is sending her heart into an erratic pattern. How are you going to get Tina back in her Pappy’s good graces again and when will Bette be apart of the Tibette factor?
This was a great chapter. Man this is so not fair, Helena is a good person, Bette and Tina feel something for each other, Tina is in love with Helena, and Bette is probably going to be good friends with Helena after birthing her foal. I am for Bette and Tina being together in the end, buy, don’t want to see Helena hurt in the process and I am not usually a Helena fan because of how she was portrayed in the series. PPS
I don’t care how you do it, I want Bette and Tina together. Thanks!
