Henry was just about to leave when he looked up and saw his date strolling through the door. He had been checking his watch for the past half hour.
“You’re late”, he said, as he gets up to greet her.
“I know, and I’m sorry ,I got caught up in traffic. And my battery died” she held up the phone.
“I can’t stay long.” he said, Last night I was almost busted, and I left this morning before she got up. Now I have to go and do major damage control. Meet me at the usual.” He then leans in for a kiss.
He was so engrossed in the kiss that he didn’t see two figures looming in the back of the restaurant watching him.
“Holy fuck,” Shane said, Isn’t that Nadia? The gossip columnist?”
“Yep,”Alice said,and isn’t that Henry?” Tina’s husband?”
“Yep”, Shane answered.
“Tell me -I didn’t just see them swapping saliva?” Alice said, “Tina is going to be so devastated, he is so busted, wait until I tell…..
“Wait… wait a minute,” Shane said, “who said anything about telling Tina?”
“Don’t tell me you are about to let him get away with cheating on her, she’s your friend Shane”
“I know Alice, but we are not about to say anything to Tina, we know nothing.
Tina hadn’t even come through the door before the phone started ringing. A man with a deep spanish accent answered and asked to speak to Henry. “I’m sorry, he isn’t here”
“Well, I gotta know what to do with this key”
“Key?”
“We don’t make house calls after hours, ya know. Only,see mister Henry gave me twenty extra bucks to get it here tonight. You his wife?”
“Are you sure you have the right Henry?”
“Works in real estate?”
“Yes,that’s my husband”
“Well he give me this address on the east side, said___
“What address?”
“He recited an address in a neighbor that Bette was familiar with. “Apartment three B. He asked me to change the lock yesterday, on account of he’d already moved some stuff in there and didn’t want old keys floating around. Only I didn’t bring an extra key yesterday, and he said he needed at least one extra. So I told him he’d have it tonight. I’m here with the key, but the super’s out for the evening.”

Henry is a coward and a creep. but a part of me is glad he’s cheating so Tina won’t feel so guilty divorcing him. i hope she finds out soon enough so she doesn’t have to live in denialville :)
Hmmm…Henry has cooked up quite an elaborate scheme. If he’s not interested in Tina anymore, why not just ask for a divorce…it would be cheaper than renting another apartment. I hope Tina “pops” in once in a while when he doesn’t show up at home and sees he’s not there “writing” either! Super update Foxy!
