Bette got out of bed and pulled on a pair of sweats. It was seven am on a Saturday, but Bette couldn’t sleep. All night she had tossed and turned, thinking about Tina,and what could have been if she wasn’t such a coward four years ago. She picked up her car keys and left the house. One minute after entering the planet, she was turning around to exit when she heard her name.

“Hey Bette” Kit called after her, “The gang is here, why don’t you pull up a chair and join us.”

Bette had spotted the gang and that was the reason she had turned around to leave before she could be spotted.__Too late now. She hugged and kissed her sister and walked over to the table.

“Hey Alice, Shane, Dana she greeted them.

“Hey Bette” they chorused.

Bette sat down and Dana was the first to speak.

“How have you been Bette?,haven’t seen you in a while. Been working hard or something?”

“Or something”. . . Alice answered before Bette could get a word in.

All eyes turned on Alice. “What’s that supposed to mean?” Shane asked her.

Alice needed no encouragement. It was like she had been waiting for this opportunity. “come on guys, look at her… she looks like shit…as if she hasn’t slept in days. ___It’s what?”___.She holds up her hand to check her watch , eight thirty on a Saturday morning and she’s at the planet. Don’t you guys see the signs?”

“What signs?. They chorus again.

Alice looked at Bette and smiled as if she knew something no-one else did. “Come on guys, can’t you see it?…She’s in love,__and twenty bucks says I Know exactly who that some one is.”

Tina was having as hard a time sleeping as Bette. She had promised Helena to go jogging with her, but she was in no mood for company this morning,when the door bell rang she answered it reluctantly.

“Hey,” Helena said, pushing her way past Tina. “why aren’t you dressed?”

“I”m not going”

“What do you mean you”re not going? Are you sick?”

“I’m just not feeling up to it this morning , Helena”

“Now I know something is wrong, we’ve been doing this every Saturday morning for the past year, and nothing has ever stopped you except sickness. Where is Henry?”
