3 Weeks after the incident:

 Shane and Carmen walks out of the office with a bouquet of flower in their hands. They are offically married now…and Shane surprised her with 6  tickets to Texas where Carmen’s extended family lives, mostly her mom’s side. They came for the funeral 2 weeks ago for her papi’s funeral and Carmen told Shane how she wanted to see them…so Shane got a month off and is taking the whole family including marco, rosita and abuela to Texas. Carmen didn’t even tell Alice about her and Shane’s marriage, no one knows….she’s been too busy recently. At first Carmen was worried about Marco, but then she thought that Marco might talk after seeing all the people and a different environment around him. Apparently Shane has property in Texas, she was brought up in Texas until her mom left her….

 At the Morales house, 

 Evan, Carlos and his wife Anais greeted Carmen and company. Carmen thought Shane would be nervous and awkward meeting with the bulk of her family, but she was suave and smooth with the family. Carmen looked at her tall and skinny wife…..she had to admit that Shane was a bit too thin…and kinda lanky. All her aunt and cousins were looking at Shane with awe….she was wearing a white shirt and a brown dress pant, even when Shane wore tie, it had to be perfect and straight. Although Carmen was herself a neat freak she felt kinda weird with Shane over obsessiveness about what to wear. Shane would always be perfectly dressed from a professional point of view. They all went to play golf, but Shane wanted to show Carmen her property and took her away from her family. Carmen sometimes felt uncomfortable, that Shane was always in control in their relationship…or marriage rather. Shane made all the decisions for them, they left when Shane wanted, she maintained the business and although Carmen trusted Shane, she wanted to share the responsibilities with Shane but….whatever…Carmen didn’t want to complain. 

 They rented a Honda accord for the trip. Shane was driving and she pulled off at this big mansion. 

 Carmen:"This is yours"

 Shane:"Yeah….all mine"

 Carmen didn’t like how Shane said it was her’s, she expected Shane to say ‘ours’ but whatever, maybe she was thinking in too deep. 

 Carmen couldn’t believe what she saw. It was a huge house, with a large Chandelier in the ceilng if only she knew that she would have to hold on to that very chandelier for her dear life that evening. …………………..
