‘Chicken. Bok bok bekerk!’
“Oh yeah” Spencer sounded distant.
“Spence” Ashley dug deep down inside for some courage. “Do you want to talk about wh..”
“I think that’s my mom pulling up.” Spencer said, flipping the curtain open and cutting Ashley off again. The brunette got up off the bed and straightened her clothing.
“I’m gonna head home Spence.”
Spencer wheeled around to face her and bit her lip. “You don’t have to go” she said softy.
“Yeah. I really do.” Ashley replied. She didn’t know what was going on, but she also wasn’t about to hang around while her friend pretended that nothing was. “I’ll see you tomorrow ok.” She left before Spencer could say anything. Thanking Mr. Carlin on the way out she got into her car before she ran back inside and threw her arms around the blonde.
‘You really need to get a grip Davies, when was the last time a girl got under your skin like this?’ Never.
If things were awkward between Ashley and Spencer the next day it was only because they couldn’t find anything to talk about. The uncomfortable silence was even noticed by Aiden who furrowed his brow and asked,
“What’s up with you guys today?”
He got a chorus of “nothing”’s in reply. Giving up in typical Aiden fashion he kept up a conversation almost single handedly. After it became clear that there was going to be very little input from the other two, he gave up.
“I’m going to find Pete.” He stood, looking at the others pointedly. “You two need to sort out this little tiff because it’s boring.” He left.
Ashley looked away from the girl sitting near her until the clutch in her chest got to burning her. She lifted her head, to find Spencer regarding her.
“Are you mad at me?” the blonde asked, clearly afraid of the answer she might receive.
“No” said Ashley stubbornly. “I just…”
“You just what?” Spencer pushed after waiting for a continuation. Ashley looked at her.
“I just want to know we’re ok…” she finished, a little lamely. She watched the other girl play with a blade of grass while considering her answer.
“I’m ok…” she began carefully. “Are you…”
“So long as we are.” Ashley answered in a rush. “I…d’you wanna hang today after school?” She was desperate to get everything back to normal and she really didn’t mind sweeping it all under the carpet so long as they were ok.
‘Liar. You want to know what’s going on inside her head. And you want to BE what’s going on inside her head.’ Spencer was the only thing in Ashley’s head these days.
“I can’t. Dad’s taking us out shopping… I’m sorry.” Spencer looked it.
“It’s cool.”
“You can come if you like…” the blonde looked damn cute when biting her lip.
“Naah.” Ashley didn’t think she could handle the tension that the Carlin family was causing in her brain right now. “But… maybe Friday?”
“I’m all yours” Spencer offered with a smile.
‘Damn I hope so’.
“Would you…”Ashley knew she might be pushing it but hell, she had to ask. “Would you like to stay over? Movie night or something?”
“I’d love to.”

Whew! Sorry I’m late again. I think I got the last of the bastards rounded up now. Unfortunately, I had to waste a few. It’s always a shame when you have to put a good zombie down. But anyway —GRWAAARRRRWW— God dammit! Hold on… ::whoshwhoshsplat!:: Ok, sorry. Now, you’ve certainly whetted my appetite for this supposed humdinger of yours. It is certain to be a rollicking good time for all.

Whew! Sorry I’m late again. I think I got the last of the bastards rounded up now. Unfortunately, I had to waste a few. It’s always a shame when you have to put a good zombie down. hmmm, movie night, im guessing at the davies residence w/o parental supervision. lol Hmmm…in ashley’s room? GAH! I need to stop thinking these things. lol for all i know they will end up in some huge fight about popcorn. lol…hmmmm, idk. But my head is still spinning from the episode of tonight and im waiting for the next one. lol So you gotta post like everyday until then. lol PMS
