    3 Months – (Chapter: Maybe It's Okay)

    3 months…

The one problem I’ve ever had with Ashley, other than the fact she cheated was that she still acts like a teenager sometimes. Yes, she freaked out on me and I feel like it’s been building up for a while now…like the past three weeks, but I’m willing to cope with it because I think I’ve put her in a hole deeper than she deserves to be in.

“hey…Aiden is Ashley here?” I asked Aiden as he opened his front door

“uh no…she didn’t tell you she got a hotel room?” he asked me

    “no?” I replied confused

“she’s staying downtown…I’m pretty sure she’s in the top suite, but she said she wanted to be alone for a while…saying she needed it or something” he told me

“okay…thanks” I told him turning around and going back into my car then I drove downtown to the hotel I knew she was staying at because it was her favorite, but the people that worked there knew who I was and they let me up, and I knocked on the door and Ashley didn’t answer, but then again there was the chance she wasn’t even in…so I sat down next to the door leaning against the wall “just like in high school…” I said to myself putting my head back staring at the ceiling then after sitting there for about an hour I was counting the every pattern on the wallpaper

“hey…” I heard a soft voice say then I looked up and saw my wife standing there and I stood up

“hi…” I said weakly not knowing where this would go exactly

“…how long have you been here?” she asked me

“uh not long…” I told her lying

“sorry, I was at the cemetery” she told me unlocking her door then she let me in, but she still wasn’t saying anything

“I love how you ignore me like back when we were eighteen…” I told her

“ignore you? What more do you want me to say to you…” she kind of snapped at me, and if I knew anything about Ashley…it was what she needed that I could give her that would make her realize how sincere I was trying to be “…you don’t want to be with me and…” she kept going until I pulled her into a passionate kiss holding her by the back of her neck and putting my other hand gently on her cheek and I pulled away and like I knew she would…she stopped talking.

    1. only two more updates:( well all good things must come to an end. but hey i love your other stories too so of course i’ll read them. great update!!pms!!

    2. I didn’t see Spencer using Kyla’s death. Death as well birth, if not more, can be seen as an awakening. An awakening that life is too short and that yes, I was cheated on, but what’s more important? Keeping the hurt and anger or working to heal my family. Kyla’s death was a catalyst for this to happen. I’m just glad that Ashley didn’t resort to something more drastic than cheating in the first place.
