A Love Built To Last – (Chapter: Chapter Eleven)

Ashley walked up to Spencer’s locker.  “So why did you get called in the principal’s office for?” Ashley asked with curiosity.  “Did you get too many A’s in school or something and they wanted you to get a B?”  Ashley let out a light chuckle.

“No,” answered Spencer.  “I got student of the month.”

“Really?” Ashley asked surprised.  “I am so happy for you!”  Ashley hugged Spencer and kissed Spencer on her forehead.  “I am so very proud of you.  It’s the only thing they have done right in King High.”

“Thank you,” stated Spencer with a smile.

“We should celebrate,” Ashley began returning the smile.

“It’s not really a big deal,” responded Spencer.  “I only got a pin for being a model student or whatever.”

“What?” Ashley asked.  “A pin?  You didn’t get a diploma or a stupid cup?  What is wrong with these people?”

“Yep, the one you could put on your shirt,” answered Spencer simply.

“Alright, so the principal is a dumbass,” Ashley pointed out. “I think it’s a very big deal.  We’re having dinner tonight and I’m not taking no for an answer.”

    “You’re very demanding,” mused Spencer.

“Well, I take that as a compliment,” Ashley stated with a smile.  “You know that you like it though.”

“I do,” agreed Spencer.  Ashley pressed her forehead against Spencer’s.

A couple of days later, Ashley was throwing a surprise party for Spencer for getting student of the month.  She was wearing a dress and the others were dressed up as well.  Paula and Arthur walked towards Ashley.

“I hate to admit this, but you’ve done a wonderful job with this party, Ashley,” began Paula.  “It was a good idea for you to throw this surprise party for Spencer.”

“Well, Spencer only deserves the best since she is the best,” Ashley responded.  “It’s not every day that my lovely girlfriend becomes student of the month.”  Paula nodded in agreement and walked away.

“I just saw Spencer,” stated Kyla as she looked out of the window.

“Turn off the lights,” Arthur said.

“My tie is on too tight,” groaned Aiden.  “Do I really have to wear it?”  Ashley rolled her eyes.

“Ky, I suggest you loosen your boyfriend’s tie before I choke him with it,” warned Ashley.
