Books and Letters – (Chapter: Save me)
Spencer’s POV
I was pulled from sleep by the sound of the front door slamming. I was happy to know that Ashley was finally home. With the Delatorre case that was going on, which I officially won today, and Ashley frantically planning for our upcoming wedding, she and I haven’t had a lot of alone time. I missed her and even though I had lunch with her today I still felt like I needed more time with her. I threw the bed covers off of my body and placed my feet on the cold hardwood floor. It was overly chilly in the room so I made my way to the thermostat, turned it to a warmer temperature and proceeded down stairs to meet my love.
Spencer: Ashley?
I called as I slinked my way down the stairs. There was no answer and I could have sworn I heard the front door slam. I made my way into the living room still calling out her name.
Spencer: Ashley? Baby, stop playing around.
I said and still there was no answer. I looked at the front door and it was locked. Maybe I was imagining it.
Spencer: Hmmm?
I chalked it all up to me having been dreaming and went into the kitchen. I opened the stainless steel refrigerator and grabbed a bottled juice. I took the cap off of the bottle and brought it to my lips, taking in the liquidy goodness that was high fructose corn syrup and artificial flavoring. I wanted Ashley to hurry up and be home already. All I wanted to do was cuddle with her on the couch and watch movies. I put the lid back on my juice and made my way back to our room so I could check my email on my laptop. As I was making my way through the dinning room, I heard a shuffling in the family room. I stopped in my tracks and turned around. There was nothing there.
Spencer: Ashley if your playing with me I’m gonna kill you.
I said but there was no answer once again. I began my trek back up to my room and then the audible clink of whatever and whoever hit me in the back of my head reverberated through the quiet, and empty house. The pain from the hit shot through my entire skull and pulsated through out the rest of my body. I dropped the juice bottle and it hit the floor, along with me following suit not too long after it. I tried to scramble up but with my head throbbing and black spots blurring my vision, it was hard to. I turned over and looked and the perpetrator that had hit me. I could clearly tell it was a guy but I couldn’t make out his face because he was wearing a black ski mask. I kicked at his hands that tried to grab me. As I was desperately trying to get up and get the hell out of danger, the guy kept pulling my legs from under me.
