“But i would never break up with you, Spence”

As she peered in the blue-eyed gaze met hers through the cracked door. Her smile fell remembering their conversation from the night before.

“Ash,” Spencer had said over the phone, her voice a bit shaken. “I care about you a lot. But we can’t be more than friends because if we broke up, I couldn’t deal with you not being my friend anymore.”

After Spencer had hung up the phone, Ashley stayed on it listening to the dial tone. “But I would never break up with you, spence.” She said quietly. Still knowing the blonde couldn’t hear her. As the tears streamed down her face, she hung up the phone and lay down in a fettle position on her bed.

Ashley was dying here, watching Spencer, Spencer knowing Ashley was watching her. All she could do was stare, she couldn’t help it. Finally, she was able to rip her eyes away from the blonde and walked her way to the bathroom.

Upon entering the bathroom, she looked under each stall carefully checking for signs that someone else may have been in there. The last thing she needed was some brown-noser telling on her for getting toked in the school bathroom. Once she realized she was alone, she went into the last stall and locked the heavy door behind her.

She pulled out the only pre-wrapped joint from the bag and stuck the end in between her lips carefully. She pulled a lighter from her pocket that she had forgotten she had. She lit it slowly as she took in a large inhale of intoxicants, letting them fill her lungs and take away the pain. Ashley was wrong, all this would do is make her think more and more about how she is in a messed up place. How her dad is dead and her mom might as well be dead and how Spencer, whom she loves dearly, doesn’t want to be with her for fear of ruining their friendship. “To friendship.” Ashley said as she took a few more hits and still had a lot left. She was already feeling a bit of a buzz and her eyes were beginning to shine in a shade of red and pink surrounding brown. In the center of the brown lay dilated pupils. So much for other people’s physical attraction to her.
