    Brave or stupid?

     

    Ashley sat there and tried to recall the conversation…disconnected memories flooded back and she remembered hearing those very words come out of the blonde’s mouth.  Ashley felt like throwing up again.  She felt like her heart was being stabbed repeatedly…Spencer thought she was worthless….and didn’t love her anymore.

    If Spencer thought she was useless and undeserving of love, then it had to be true.

    A tear fell down her face.  She wiped it away angrily.

     

    At least she had Aiden, he wouldn’t leave her.  He accepted her for the screw-up that she was.

     

    Aiden sat down next to Ashley and held her face. 

     

    “Ash, babe, I’m here now, it’ll be ok.” he said.  “I’ll take care of you, and I won’t leave you.” He said.

     

    He wiped away a tear.  Ashley looked into his eyes.  He seemed so sincere.

     

    He hugged her closely.

     

    “You promise that you won’t leave me, no matter what?” she asked sobbing quietly.

     

    “I won’t leave you, not ever.” He repeated.

     

    Before Ashley knew it, Aiden’s lips were on hers.  It felt so wrong, she wanted Spencer’s arms around her and Spencer’s lips on hers.  She felt his rough hands trail up her shirt.  She broke the kiss and moved away pulling her shirt down.

     

    “I’m sorry Aiden, I just can’t do this, I’m not ready.” She said

     

    She felt so weak and vulnerable and she needed someone to feel close to.  It would be so easy for her to give in to Aiden now, and to feel someone who wanted her inside her, but fuck, this was way too fast.  The only thoughts in her mind were of Spencer in her, kissing her, telling her that she loved her, and seeing that it was true in those blue eyes.

     

    Aiden sighed and stood up.

     

    “Yeah, um, I guess you’re right.” He said sounding completely unconvinced.

     

    An awkward silence filled the room as Ashley buried her head in her hands trying not to cry. 

     

    “Come on Ash, since when do you cry over girls, you’re better than that.” he said sounding frustrated.  “Hey, I know what’ll cheer you up, come on, get dressed, I’m taking you out.”
