Chopped and Screwed – (Chapter: 21: Make Up and Make Out)
Kristal left a few hours later and it took all of my will power not to shove her out the door.
“So what do you think about her?” she asks hopefully.
I think it’s amazing how intelligent people like Ashley are drawn to fake preppy bitches like Kristal, but I keep that to myself.
“Honestly, I don’t care for her. Actually I kind of hate her because she seems so phony. Sorry. I know it’s a bummer to have your girlfriend and your best friend dislike each other.”
“But she doesn’t—“
“And before you say anything, I know she doesn’t like me. I can tell.”
She simply nods. “I know what you mean. Believe it or not, she and I used to be mortal enemies. Kris can be difficult, but once you know where she’s coming form, everything is different.”
I give her a skeptical look.
“She’s better once you get to know her,” she assures me.
“Hmph,” I grunt, still not believing her. “Let’s go somewhere. We need to get out if this house. It’s full of negative energy.”
“I know somewhere we could go later on tonight,” she suggests.
We pull up to an empty field overlooking the city.
I look over at her incredulously.
“Before you say anything, I know this is incredibly cheesy and old school, but it can be fun,” she offers.
“Did you bring me to the Point?”
She erupts with laughter. “No, of course not. This is a drive in.”
“Oh.” I relax back into my seat. “Oh.”
She looks over and smiles at me. “Why? Did you want to go to the Point?”
“No!” I hurriedly say, but then clear my throat to compose myself. “I mean…no. But I wouldn’t mind, though.”
“Well you know, all drive-ins are dual purpose,” she informs me, playfully wiggling her eyebrows.
“You’re so silly,” I say, gently nudging her.
“I’m sooo serious.”
This causes me to laugh even more.
“Okay, Ms. Serious. Do they have snacks up here?”
“I’m sure they do.”
We get out of her Porsche and walk over to a small building I missed when we drove up.
