The little blonde girl moved away from the dresser and left the room. After a trip to the bathroom, she went downstairs following the smell of food. Her feet paused when she reached the bottom of the stairs. The smell of freshly cooked food was alluring, but hearing the TV also had her curious. She decided to follow her ears and enter the living room. “Mama.” She smiled as she got on the couch next to Paula. The older blonde immediately wrapped an arm around her little shoulders, hugging the girl to her, she placed a kiss on the top of her head. “Hey sleepy head. I thought you were never getting up.”
“I can’t sleep forever!” The little blonde pulled back giggling. “I smell something good.” She added in a tone that said ‘I want some.’
“Do you now?” Paula teased and then stood up from the couch. She crouched down until she was eye level with the little girl. Her dark green eyes were sometimes painful to look into. Sherry had the same shape and shade. Her twin sister was a constant concern. Paula hadn’t seen or heard from her in two years. She could be anywhere from running the streets of New York to dead in some alley. Either way, the drugs would kill her. She would never forget her mother’s words. ‘Once you do dope, you might as well kill yourself.’ “I’ll feed you my little angel but, there is a surprise for you.”
Her green eyes immediately lit up. Excitement plainly covered her face. “What is it!” She asked loudly wracking her little brain for something she had asked for. “I’m not hungry anymore! Is it a puppy?”
Paula chuckled. “Calm down, and don’t lie. You haven’t had anything since breakfast.” She stood up. “Your surprise is somewhere in the basement. The guestroom I imagine.” She assumed that’s where the girls were after seeing the door to the basement open. The urge to check on them was strong, but something kept her back. She focused on cooking and decided to leave the girls alone. “Go have a look while I fix you up a plate.”
“Okay!” Caitlyn kissed Paula’s cheek and then ran out of the living room. Her short legs moved quickly through the hallway. A Barbie dream house would be the coolest surprise, she thought eagerly. The commercial played in her mind, encouraging her to move faster. She reached up for the basement’s light switch. Everything was quiet, as usual, her brother was always out. He was 16 now and becoming a little rebel, never coming home on curfew, he was always grounded.

Wow! How I have truly missed this. Such an amazing update. I can’t say enough. Love this part of their journey together. I’m glad that Ashley is getting to see that she can be a great person without the drugs. Can’t wait for more. Great writing. Very inspiring.

ashley’s getting along with spencer’s family even if paula and arthur get suspicious every once in a while. i’m glad spence had ashley talk to denny maybe he won’t do any more pot and the scene where he’d said i really think she’d let you do her was hilarous my favorite scene. ash really needs to call brenda and talk to kyla not just text pms
i was late to school cause i started reading at 6:00 am and stilll havnt touched my homework. but luckly getting home to read this motivated me to finish my 5 mile run for track faster

This is such a sweet chapter, thanks for making so long. lol, i love the long chapters. I’m really glad Ashley is deciding to change. These two are so amazing. There’s just a ton of things I’m liking about the story. I love how Paula and Arthur actually like Ashley in this fic. Go figure. Anyway I can’t wait for the next update, i’ll be patient but it won’t be easy. XD
First the smoke blowing: You are an amazing author! I wish you could just knock these posts out every week but I know good things take time and so alas I must wait, thank you though for sharing your talent.Ok, soo interesting, I get the impression that Paula is either A)passive aggressive or B) just really cool with the fact that Ashley and Spencer are seemingly together… Arthur on the other hand seems a little less like he’d be into their relationship…Time will tell I suppose.I love Denny! He’s like a male Ashley…a little more immature but I like him!Also, interesting form of therapy for Ashley…meeting a well adjusted family seems to have helped put a few things into perspective for her. Maybe she needs to stay out of LA, environment is apparently everything…or maybe what Ashley needs to do is turn her actually family into a better one. Hopefully she reconnects with Kyla and her mother, they seem to hold a meaningful soft spot in her heart.PMS PMS PMS
I cannot even tell you how much I loved this update. I took time to read it (3 or 4 days) because I knew it’s gonna take a while for the next update to be posted, so I wanted to savor reading it. I love what you created between Ashley and Spencer…it’s almost something magical. Everytime I read this story I forget everything around me, no lie. (The prologue still worries me, though). I hope Ashley will manage to stay away from the drugs..she’s much better of without them. It probably is gonna take a while, but I hope you’ll update soon-ish. I’m addicted to this story. :P I really am.
I swear i can never get enough of this story… im waiting for something bad to happen though, things are a little too perfect for the girls… o and i cant wait for Spence and Denny to come out to each other
