Flipside – (Chapter: The After Party)

“Well I know it must have been hard for you to be told what to sing and what not to sing.”  See told ya.

“Yeah well, I just told myself that if I get through the first album then it will all be worth it in the end.”

“How do you mean?”  She looks nervous.  I know she wishes I hadn’t asked this question because I can tell she doesn’t want to answer it.

“Remember that time in my room, when you told me you wish someone would write songs for you?”  She asked me.

“Yeah.  That was the first time I caught you doing your homework.”  I laughed but truthfully I remember that day all too well.

“Well, I wrote all my songs for…”  She couldn’t finish because we were once again interrupted by Aiden.

“Hey guys, we’re heading out.”  I smiled at him but truthfully I was annoyed.  How many times has this guy interrupted me and Ashley?  I swear, if I didn’t know any better I’d think it was his mission to ruin moments for me and her.  Ashley and I both got up to hug our friends goodbye.  We go back inside to find that most of the party had dissipated.  The only ones left were my family (including my mom who was glaring at Ashley and I as we walked in) and Madison who looked like she was ready to leave too.

“Hey, I’m gonna grab some stuff for the morning, then we can leave.”  I tell Ashley, leaving her side.  It wasn’t more than five minutes of getting my things that I heard an argument rise from downstairs to my room.  I was trying to make out the loud voices and then it hit me.  How stupid was I to leave Ashley and my mother downstairs in the same room.  I immediately grab my things and rush downstairs.

“It was all your fault!”  I heard my mom scream.

“Paula, don’t.  I don’t even know why you kept us apart.  There was nothing even between us!”  Ashley’s voice was calm but loud.

“Oh please Ashley.  You don’t think I know you turned her into a sinner?  It was your fault because she was going to your house when she was in that accident.  And don’t think that I don’t know why she was going.”
