I couldn’t wait to get back to the city, though, because I had brought with me a box of pictures and other things I didn’t have space for in the dorm, but planned to bring to her… our apartment. I was ecstatic, to say the least. My dad was going to fly out in a few weeks to help with the move and I would have an entire 2 weeks of free time after moving in before I started my internship.
When the driver pulled up to my dorm, Ashley put on her best puppy-dog pout.
“Ash, I have to go unpack and stuff,” I said, laughing.
“Unpack at the apartment.”
“I will in 3 weeks, alright? Call me later. We’ll get dinner.”
“Fine,” she relented. I smiled and shook my head as I closed the door, leaving behind the box of things for her to bring back with her.
By the time 8 o’clock rolled around and Ashley still hadn’t called, I decided I was sick of waiting and called her myself. She didn’t pick up though, and I began to wonder what the story was. I called a couple times more but there was still no answer. I figured she had fallen asleep; I was on the verge of doing so myself after today’s flight. Since Allie hadn’t gotten back from Chicago yet, I changed into pajamas and curled up in bed, watching a movie by myself. A little before 11, she finally called.
“Hey Ash,” I greeted her.
“That fucking asshole…”
“What?”
“Did you see what he did?” she asked.
“What are you talking about? Where are you?” I questioned; I could hear voices in the background.
“He went on national fucking television and tried to make himself out to be the good guy. Like it’s all my fault we don’t have a fucking relationship.”
“Your dad?”
“And now I have all these fucking press people asking me what I feel and why I hate him. Of course I’m the horrible fucking person in his version. I’m the one who was never fucking there,” she ranted angrily.
“Ash, where are you?”
“At my publicist’s office. And of course this all happens the day after his new album comes out. He’s fucking using me to sell albums. Can you believe it?” she said. Well, I didn’t want to say anything but I doubted that was true. If it was a publicity stunt, shouldn’t it have happened before the album came out? Not to mention the fact that he was still really famous; he didn’t need this to sell albums.

hey, I’m glad to see you’re still writing and posting this story! I think it’s wicked, and Ashley’s fame and how she deals with it is an interesting addition to the usual Spashley sagas! keep up the great work, I look forward to reading more soon! :-D

Hmm, in the event Ashley wants to do some cover tunes during her next concert and dedicate them to Raife, may I suggest “I Hate Everything About You” by Three Days Grace, “Mr. Intentional” by Lauryn Hill and if Ashley feels like throwing down a rap song, “Cleaning Out My Closet” by Eminem. Oh well, I suppose there’s nothing left for Spencer and Ashley to do but got back to their apartment and comfort each other….a few times…in a few different rooms. Virtual high-5 for this fantastic update Kozmic. Oh, and no worries about the writers block. No matter what direction you take this story in, we’ll be reading.
