I Still Love You – (Chapter: One and Two)
“This is Ashley.” She said her legs now propped up on the desk.
“Ashley, this is Jenna. How are you?” the girl on the other line said, her voice very warm and friendly. Ashley thought for a second before remembering.
“Yes, I remember you. I’m good, how are you?” she replied. The girl on the other line giggled.
“Good, I’m really good. Uhm, I was wondering if you want to go out tonight and get some dinner maybe?” Ashley exhaled lightly. Dinner? Do I want to go to dinner with this girl that I only met once and just happened to give my number to? Ugh. I’m a horrible person.
“Sure, I’d love you.” She said, hitting her hand to her forehead.
“Awesome, I’ll pick you up at 6.” She said before hanging up.
Ashley sat at the desk not understanding what had just happened. Did I seriously just agree to go out to dinner with a girl that isn’t Spencer? She was angry with herself. She didn’t know why she had just done that, but she had. Fail. Ashley fail. She repeated over and over again in her head.
Later that night
She heard someone knock on the door at five fifty five. She got up from the couch and opened the door. There stood Jenna, the girl she had met on the beach a couple of days before. She was wearing a pair of tight blue jeans that hugged her in all the right places, a white button down shirt that had the first three buttons undone and a pair of black Chuck Taylor’s. Woah. Ashley thought to herself as she smiled at the girl standing in front of her.
“Hey.” Jenna said with a smile on her face as well.
“Hey yourself. Do you want to go in my car or yours?” she asked as she walked out the door and closed it behind her.
“Yours is fine.” She replied as she took Ashley’s hand and led her to the car. Ashley didn’t pull away; she slid her fingers through Jenna’s. She opened the door for her and then she got in to the driver’s side.
Ashley turned on the car and sighed looking over at Jenna. “So, where to?” she asked, a small smile on her face.
Jenna smiled back. “I was thinking we could go to The Grad and go dancing since its gay night and all. I thought it would be kinda fun, don’t you think so?” she asked shrugging. Ashley nodded with a smile still planted on her face.
“That sounds great.” She said as she put the car into gear and pulled out of the drive way.
