“Since Jake is gonna stay here I didn’t want him to pee.”

“Your smart.” I nodded taking her duffel bag and setting it on the couch.

“Nice place, it’s really-”

“Scary? I know.”

“Yeah, but I was gonna say cool.”

“Do want anything to drink? Are you hungry?”

“Nah I’ll just get it myself.” Erin replied and walked over to the fridge and pulled it open finding something edible. I picked up Jake’s tennis ball and Jake automatically looked up at it jumping around.

“You want the ball?”

Jake barked running around. I threw it across the room and he ran after it. Damn I thought he was gonna start rolling by the way he ran. He caught the ball in his mouth and stayed there playing with it.

“How come he isn’t coming back?”

“Didn’t teach him that.” Erin said grabbing a bottle of water and popped in Cup of Noodles in the microwave.

“Why not?”

“I mean a ball is like a girl. When she walks away knowing you want her you go after her and take it. Your not gonna bring the girl back to it’s owner your gonna keep it and play with it.”

“I’m guessing that’s what you live by?”

“Have you not seen how I pick up girls?”

“Hmm, guess not.”

“We so need to hit the club some day.”

Beep. Beep. Beep. Erin opened the microwave taking her Cup of Noodles and her water to the couch. She set her food on the coffee table and drank her bottle of water.

“He’s still playing with it.”

“Yeah, that’s what you gotta do when you have it.” Erin said exhausted.

I pulled the covers away and got into my bed grabbing my book from the table next to me. I turned on the lamp and began to read. Erin was in my bathroom taking a shower as her dog curled up in a ball in her section of her bed.
