Loving Annabelle, Alternate Ending Fan Fiction Contest
‘Two seconds Aunt, I’m just trying to find a top.’
She throws Annabelle’s boots into her wardrobe and heads to the door. She stops in front of it and runs her hands through her hair trying to calm her nerves. When she finally opens the door, Mother Immaculata pushes past her into the room and looks around suspiciously.
‘Where’s Annabelle?’
‘Wasn’t she at lunch?’
‘No, and why aren’t you?’
‘My alarm didn’t go off; I think the storm must have reset it.’
‘Perhaps it’s time you invested in a mechanical one, anyway, I need to talk to you about Anabelle.’
Mother Immaculata starts to walk over to the open window, ‘Simone its freezing in here.’
‘Leave them open.’ Simone blurts out.
Mother Imaculata turns sharply to Simone a deep frown etched on her face.
‘I’m sorry?’
‘I mean, please leave them open, I have a terrible headache.’
‘I’m hoping that it accounts for your strange behaviour this morning and that it will not be becoming a regular occurrence.’
Simone rolls her eyes outside, listening to their conversation, finally her bedroom window swings open and she climbs inside.
‘I owe you big time.’
‘What’s going on?’
‘It’s a long story.’ She notices that there’s someone missing, ‘Where’s Cat?’
‘She followed Mother Immaculata up to Miss Bradleys room after she told her you didn’t stay in here last night.’
Kristin kicks Colins, but she just turns to look at her blankly, ‘What?’
‘God, she really is a bitch.’ Annabelle fumes as she walks out of the door.
‘I can’t believe you told her that!’
All of a sudden loud, slightly slurred shouting starts in the hallway, the girls run out to see Annabelle crawling up the stairs.
‘Woo, will someone stop moving the steps, I want to go to bed, but they keep moving. Ahh Colins, Kristen I love you so much, have I told you that? I really really do.’
Mother Imacculata and Simone come rushing out of her room hearing all the commotion. Annabelle crawls up a few more steps.
‘Ooo boss woman, hey, hi, I, erm, sorry I’m late?’
Annabelle pretends to struggle getting to her feet.
‘Miss Tillman, I suggest you explain yourself immediately.’
‘Explain, explain what? I drank and now I’m drunk, you should try it sometime’
