    Spencer goes to boarding school and meets Ashley and her crew

    Sara: “Soooo, Jess seems to like you.” She smiles wide and moves her eyebrows up and down suggestively. I smile back and roll my eyes.

    Sara: “Let’s see. Ripped jeans, a black Joan Jett t-shirt with a long sleeved white shirt underneath, a navy styled black pea coat, black chucks, a studded belt, and heavy eyeliner. You must be gay.” I chuckle at her appraisal, not that it was a difficult analysts.

    Spencer: “You are correct.” I take a break from my unpacking and sit on my bed to face her. “And there’s no need to ask you, everyone here seems to only talk about you and well I guess my new roommates.”

    Sara: “Yeah, sorry about that. You’re probably already sick of us and you haven’t even met everyone yet.”

    Spencer: “It’s whatever. So where is everyone else?”

    Sara: “Gage is in advance chem., Ash is in bio, and my love is in espanol. If you have fifth period lunch you can meet them then. I can introduce you real fast then you can go sit with your new girlfriend.” She smirks at me.

    Spencer: “Yeah, whatever.”

    Sara: “So, can I take a stab at what you are?” This again?

    Spencer: “By all means.” She stares at me with her finger tapping her chin and her face is set in a thinking expression.

    Sara: “Delinquent, totally, but you don’t seem to have a stick up your ass like the rest of them.”

    Spencer: “Wrong, I’m a baby.”

    Sara: “Ha ha, nice try badass, you’re a delinquent who’s got a good sto
    ry to go along with it. It’s okay; you don’t have to tell me if you don’t want to.”

    Spencer: “Okay, you got me.” I start to fold my already folded clothes and I guess she takes the hint that I don’t want to talk about it.

    Sara: “You’ll like it here. It really isn’t that bad. After you’ve been here long enough you can start accumulating points. After you have enough you can go off campus on the weekends and stuff like that. Have you heard of the hole yet?”

    Spencer: “Yeah.”

    Sara: “And there’s things like the hole that makes it fun, and you’re particularly lucky because you got the best dorm in the place.” She smiles big again, but her expression falters when she sees my less than thrilled face.
