“Yeah me either. Haha. Iono…I was frustrated one night. I couldn’t sleep, so for what ever reason, I climbed up here and found this. I love coming out here on nights like this.” Spencer gawked at the sight at her feet. It was LA as far as the eye could see. Lights every where around them except for the quaint little piece of suburb that blanketed them from all the worries of those very lights.

“It’s awesome Ash.” She kept her eyes on the scene before her. While taking Ashley’s hand in hers even tighter, she brought it gently up to her lips and kissed it.

“I know… It’s beautiful isn’t it?” Spencer turned to reply, only to be met by two pools of dark, chocolate, eyes. She was sinking into, her slowly but surely, She was stuck…and she didn’t mind getting lost if it meant she could be that happy for the rest of her life. “Spencer…this is ours.” She was brought out of her trans with confusion flooding into its place.

“What do you mean, Ash?”

“I turn 18 in a few months and-“

“And?” She moved in closer to Ashley letting her weight rest against her.

“My dad left me this house Spencer…my moms never even home any ways, and I’m more then happy to have Kyla stay here-“

“I love you.”    Did I hear myself right? Did SHE hear me, or was I just letting my thoughts roam?

Spencer was suddenly overwhelmed, but sure enough, Ashley was right there to bring her back to sanity.

“I love you too, Spencer.”

Awww…I mean shittt!!! But that was cute…ahhhh!

“Spence…haha calm down. I know that a hard thing to say but c’mon, I’m your rock Spence-“

“That’s an understatement…”

Damn it Carlin. Shut your freakin mouth!!!

“Haha and I’m not being cocky Spence…I cant be because you…you’re the very ground that holds me up…that keeps me out of god knows what trouble I could be in. None the less Spence…I do love you…and I know you’ve been broken, but I’m not gonna give up before I try my hardest to fix that Spence.” Spencer blushed in the dark, while Ashley’s nervousness was evident either way, dark or light. “That came out wrong. I just mean that…you know, I just-“

“Ashley…I know…remember, you don’t have to prove anything to me. You’ve helped me so much more than you think Ashley. And I…will stay with you…forever…if you’ll have me?”

Once again no need for words…the sun was just coming up over the city of angels, and no one else was alive in the world on top of that house, the world Spencer and Ashley had sat through hell just to find.  All they needed was each other, and that’s what they had.

7:00 am

Ashley’s voice was just above a whisper, but barely matching the sound of the breeze whipping through her hair. “You promise?”  Spencer spoke into Ashley’s shoulder, as she refused to let go any time soon. “I promise.” She said simply, as she led Ashley back into her bed room, lay down beside her in her bed, and drifted off, keeping Ashley calm and safe…and Ashley returning every bit of that favor.
