“What about it?”

“It’s definitely brighter and out twinkles all of the stars in the sky. It almost has this alluring beauty about it, don’t you agree?”

“Yeah, I guess it does.” I stare at the luminous star intently.

“I’m naming it after you, Spencer Carlin.”

Ashley was staring at me so lovingly and it was really going to hurt me to have to burst her bubble, but I just had to.

“Ash I really appreciate how romantic you’re trying to be, but that star already has a name, it’s the North Star.” Her face fell at my words.

“Well I’m just gonna have to call up NASA and see to it that it’s changed to the Spencer Star, because my baby deserves the best.”

I gave her the biggest kiss and chuckled into her lips.

“I love you.”

“I love you to Spence.”

When morning hit, it couldn’t have gone any slower. We all had to wait for my dad to get his lazy butt out of bed to make us all breakfast before we could hit the beach. So that leads Ashley and I to where we are now, in the tent, getting ready for the beach.

 “Spence, what do you think about this one?”

I took in the sight of my gorgeous girlfriend modeling a bright red bikini that might as well had fuck me written on the fabric, although there wasn’t much fabric to it.

“Hot,” was all I could manage to say.

“You like? Cuz honestly I think my butt looks huge in this suit an-”

I cut her off with a quick kiss.

“Stop it, you’re perfect.”

Ashley gleamed at me with her deep brown eyes and a red tint crept onto her cheeks. I love how we can still make each other blush after being together for this long.

“Hey girls, you ready to hit the rays?” I heard my mother call from outside the tent and I looked to Ashley in desperation.

“Uh, yeah Paula, we’ll be right there.” Ashley yelled out in my absence to speak.

“Ashley what are you doing?” I hissed at her and she shrugged.

I had no idea this was going to be a me, girlfriend, and MOM day.

“You can’t just ignore her Spence. Plus maybe now that she’s tagging along this would be the perfect time to talk to her about, oh ya know?” Ashley gestures between her and I “Us.”
