My Drug – (Chapter: Sixth Grade)

The sixth grade I had Mrs. Breyfogle. She wasn’t always the nicest teacher. The only thing I really like about her, was that she let us play on the playground a lot. Sixth grade was just like any other year, until I met a certain blonde haired blue eyes beauty.
Her name was Spencer Carlin. This was the first time I’d ever had any class with her. The only words we’d ever spoken to each other before sixth grade, was back in preschool. The conversation basically just consisted of her telling me to stay away from her juice box. Needless to say, we didn’t hit it off.

But this was a new year. Preschool was far behind us, and there she was standing there looking as beautiful as ever. Ok, I was never the smoothest sixth grader. But hey give me a break. It took me a few years before I got my game together. She is the only person that I’ve found the Davies charm doesn’t seem to work on.

So I went up to her, trying not to stumble on my words, or my shoelaces for that matter. I stuck out my hand, and said the one thing everybody says when they’re introducing themselves.

“Hi, I’m Ashley Davies,” I smiled.

“Spencer Carlin,” she replied taking my hand and shaking it and giving inquiring look as she tried to size me up. “Hey, are you the girl who tried to jack my juice box?” Are you kidding? She still remembers that? I scratched my head trying to come up with an excuse.

“Nope, must have been someone else.” Yeah, that was real smooth. She’s really going to believe that.

    “Ok,” she replied doubtfully. “Promise?”

    “Promise…”

    Breathing life

    Waking up

    My eyes open up

    Comatose

I’ll never wake up without and overdose of you

    I don’t wanna live

    I don’t wanna breath

Less I feel you next to me

You take the pain I feel

Waking up to you never felt so real

    I don’t wanna sleep I don’t wanna dream

Cause my dreams don’t comfort me

The way you make me feel

Waking up to you never felt so real

And that was the only time I’d ever lied to her. Ok, so there might have been a few others that I just can’t remember. Buy after that we became close friends. But even back then I knew there was something different about her. It wouldn’t be until years later that I really figured out what I was feeling or finally admitted it to myself. It would be years of oblivious heart break on both sides. I always knew in the end it would come to this. I tried to pretend it wouldn’t turn out like this. I held on to a small hope. Pretending ignorance is bliss. And it used to work, until I outgrew it.

Six years later I’m still love struck by this girl. But what can I say, she’s my obsession.

    Oh how I adore you

Waking up to you never felt so real

Oh how I thirst for you

Waking up to you never felt so real

My name is Ashley Davies, and this is my story on how i got addicted to the innocent blonde haired beauty, Spencer Carlin…
