    Chapter Twelve

     

    AIDEN’S POV:

    12:00 a.m.

    Aiden is at the pier.

    Eddie: So do you have the money?

    Aiden: What are you doing here? Where’s Dante?

    Eddie: He had some business to attend to, so he sent me to get the money, that is if you have the money?

    Aiden: I’ve got it.

    Eddie: Good. Hand it over.

    Eddie puts out his hand for the money.

    Aiden: Before I do I want you tell Dante something for me.

    Eddie sighs.

    Eddie: And what’s that?

    Aiden: This is last time I want to hear from him. I’m not buying any more drugs from him and I’m not doing any more deals for him. Got it.

    Eddie: Whatever you say. Now let me have the money.

    Aiden pulls out the money from his pocket and hands it over to Eddie. Eddie flips through the money to make sure it’s all there.

    Eddie: Wow I’m impressed. I didn’t think you would come through. Well I have to get going. Duty calls.

    Before Eddie walks away from Aiden he stops.

    Eddie: Oh, there is one more thing Dante asked me to do.

    Eddie punches Aiden in the jaw. Then without hesitating Eddie punches him in the stomach. Aiden falls to his knees trying to catch his breath.

    Eddie: Your lucky, you could have ended up like that bitch of yours.

    Eddie laughs to himself and walks away.

    THE NEXT DAY…

    SPENCER’S POV:

    So Kyla and I just arrived at the hospital to pick up Ashley. Chelsea was going to come but she went shopping to replace some of the things that got broken in Kyla’s apartment.

    Kyla: So can we take her home?

    Doctor: Yes, but before you do there are some things I’d like to discuss with you. Ashley woke up a couple times last night after you left and the amnesia was as I expected. She didn’t know who she was and she doesn’t remember anything that happened before she woke up.

    Kyla: So she doesn’t remember me, her own sister? Or Spencer, her best friend?

    Doctor: No, I’m afraid not.

    Kyla couldn’t hold it in anymore. She started crying and I was on the edge of crying myself, but I wanted to stay strong for Kyla. I wrapped her in a hug and prayed that Ashley wouldn’t be like this for long.
