Nowheresville – (Chapter: I’m Here Without You Baby: Chapter 16)

    Ashley’s POV

I haven’t seen Spencer all summer. I never go to tell her that they were going to skip me up to 9th grade when school starts. I saw my school Friday and Saturday. It’s really big! I found out they were skipping me Friday before I "left" at the beginning of school. I sit in the tree in my backyard all the time looking at the trees in the spot where Spencer’s house is hidden. I miss her but I’m not going to go to her. She has to come to me, she’s the one that left. I’m sitting on the bus in the middle on the right side. We’re at Spencer’s stop and I see her come out of her house. She’s not wearing black any more and her awesome boots are gone. She’s in a red polo thingy with a white tank under it, ripped jeans and she has her hair which is blonde again, scrunchy. I slide over in my seat and turn away from her. I don’t know why I’m shutting her out. I feel her walk past me and sit in the back. I turn and she’s in the very back row squished between a red head and an emo chick. I scowl at them and turn back the other way. We go a few more stops and Aiden gets on the bus. He moved over summer cuz his mom had a baby. He’s sits next to me.

"Hey Ash! What’s Up?" he says. We hung out a lot over summer. He seems to have forgotten about what happened.

"Nothing much. Who do you have for homeroom?"

    "Mrs.Molnar. 804."

"Ok. Kool! Me too. Then I go to Spanish 2, Creative Writing, Geometry, Biology, Lunch, World History, English 1."

"I have um… Spanish 1, Drama, World Geography, Integrated Science, Lunch, English/ Language Arts, and Algrbra 1B."

"At least we have lunch together. Look for me when you get out there."

    "Ok."

The bus pulls into school and I head for my first class with my map in my back pocket. I figure out that the stairs right across from where I turn take me right up to Creative Writing. My first 4 classes go like always. Kind of hectic, lots of papers, stupid getting to know you crap. The teachers should have you fill out one of those stupid papers and then they should just make copies for eachother. It would be so much easier. Since they all have the same basic stuff on them we wouldn’t have to do it like 50 times each class before the first week is over. Walking down to lunch, I see herds of kids. Everone is being really loud. I hate people my age! They’re all so dumb! I pass by the cafeteria peeking in and it’s extremely crowded. I feel someone come up behind me and the next thing I know Aiden has me in a fireman’s hold over his shoulder.
