    Opposites – (Chapter: 19)

    "Getting crafty," Ashley muttered.

"Getting slow, old timer," Spencer retorted sweetly.

Ashley slammed Spencer’s next serve crosscourt. After the bounce, it landed somewhere in the grandstands. Under her breath Spencer swore pungently.

    "Did you say something?"

"Not a thing." Disgusted, Spencer shook her hair back. As she readied to serve, she caught the look in Ashley’s eyes. They rested not on her ball or racket, but on her mouth. All’s fair, she mused with a secret smile. Slowly and deliberately she moistened her lips with the tip of her tongue. Taking a long, preliminary stretch, she served. Distracted, Ashley was slow to meet the ball. Spencer had little trouble blowing the return past her.

"Game point," Spencer said softly, sending Ashley an intimate smile. Keeping her back to her, she bent to pick up a fresh ball, taking her time about it. She could almost feel Ashley’s eyes run up the long length of her legs. Smoothing a hand down her hip, she walked back to the baseline. "Ready?"

Ashley nodded, dragging her eyes away from the subtle sweep of her breasts. When her eyes met Spencer’s, she read an invitation that had her pulse racing. Her concentration broken, she barely returned Spencer’s serve. The rally was very short.

Victorious, Spencer let out a hoot of laughter before she walked to the net. "Your game seemed to be a bit off, Davies."

The jibe and the laughter in Spencer’s eyes had Ashley wanting to strangle her… and devour her. "Cheat," she murmured as she walked to meet her at the net.

Spencer’s look was guileless and she was faintly shocked. "I have no idea what you’re talking about." The words were hardly out of her mouth when she was pulled against Ashley, her lips crushed under hers. Laughter and desire seemed to bubble in her simultaneously. Without being aware of it, Spencer dropped her racket and clung to Ashley.

"You’re lucky I didn’t toss you on the ground here and now," Ashley mumbled against her mouth.

"What’s lucky about that?" Enchanted, Spencer strained against her. How was it possible for one kiss to make her head swim?

Ashley drew back, inches only. Her whole body was throbbing for Spencer. "Don’t tempt me."

    2. I really like your re-write. I’m a huge fan of tennis so the back story is great. I’ll try to leave a more detailed review next post. PMS!
