Past Revisited – (Chapter: 8-Long Weekend)

    “Ash, it’s only ten a.m.”

“I don’t care what time it is, I need some food after that workout. C’mon, let’s go to the diner. A bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich sounds really good for some reason.”

Spencer just smiled and shook her head at me. She didn’t say a word. We both finally got dressed and headed out the door.

After I had a second breakfast we walked around the city, taking in the sites and sounds together. Spencer was in awe of everything that she laid eyes on. For me New York City was my home now. For her it was a whole new experience. I loved seeing her that way. She never stopped smiling. I took her by Times Square and she was blown away by how busy New York is compared to L.A. We walked past a department store and she couldn’t stop looking at a dress that they had in the window. It was beautiful. It was an evening gown that was black with small pink accents. It was simple but yet beautiful.

“Wow Ash, that dress is beautiful.”

“Yeah I noticed.” I wanted to offer for her to go try it on but I wanted to save it for a special occasion. I had a dinner scheduled with the executives of RCA for the release of Kelly Clarkson’s album. Miss Clarkson would also be there herself. And if I took Spencer, I knew she would look absolutely gorgeous in that dress.

“I would love to have something like that.”

“Well, good things come to those who wait.” I gave her a wink.

She smiled at me, “Why Miss Davies, are you being cryptic?”

“Maybe. It’s all for the good. Trust me.”

We stopped and Spencer pulled me back to her, “That’s the thing, I do trust you.” She planted a small, sweet kiss on my lips.

I was in awe. It was such a cute moment. I couldn’t help but have a dorky smile on my face as we walked throughout the rest of New York City. As we climbed the stairs to my apartment we were laughing at a guy who had just tripped over his own dog’s leash while we were walking up to my apartment building. It was a hilarious moment. When I slid the key in my lock it was already unlocked. I never left my apartment unlocked when I went places, “Whoa.”
