Reflections In The Rearview – (Chapter: Chapter 4 Part B)
Ashley dragged Spencer into the lady’s locker room and handed her a pair of sweats, sneakers and a long sleeve shirt out of her bag. The two began to change their clothes and Spencer audibly gulped when Ashley lifted her halter over her head revealing her taught abs. Ashley caught Spencer staring out of the corner of her eye. “See something you like Carlin?”
Spencer nodded furiously and shoved Ashley up against the lockers attacking her mouth. Surprised Ashley reached behind her to steady herself, pushing against the green lockers as a form of support.
Several minutes later Ashley reluctantly pulled away, “come on get dressed, we only have the rink for an hour”
Spencer nodded and pulled away tying her sneakers. They headed out to the rink again and Ashley began to put on a hockey helmet, elbow pads and shin and knee guards. She picked up a long stick, and began to walk out on to the ice.
“Ash!” Spencer yelled “you can’t walk out onto the ice in sneakers!”
Ashley turned around and laughed, “Well you better come save me Carlin”
And with that the brunette took off running around the rink, falling down every so often and sliding a good twenty feet. She screamed like a little girl as Spencer entered the ice and chased her.
A loud voice came over the stereo system. “Alright ladies the balls in the middle of the rink, let the game begin!”
Spencer who had gotten distracted by the voice collapsed into a heap when she rammed into Ashley. The two fell down in a pile and kept laughing and rolling around on the ice. “Ash” Spencer said between giggles, “what exactly are we doing?”
“We’re playing broom ball!”
“We’re what?” Spencer cried, she hadn’t heard of broom ball before but apparently Ashley knew everything about it because she rattled off the details. It was like hockey except you played without hockey sticks and used sticks with a rubber square at the bottom in order to hit a black ball. You also wore sneakers.
The two began their game and were running up and down the ice collapsing every so often from fits of laughter and just plain clumsiness. The game was tied 6/6 when the voice came over the loudspeaker again telling them that their time was up.
