Rude Comments and Silent Tears. – (Chapter: Oh, Mrs. Carlin. You Know Me Too Well.)

After hearing my mom scream, we all rushed to the front door. Ashley was standing there with a smirk on her face while my mom was still in shock.

"Yup. Its me. Ashley Davies. The one and only."

"How….. when…. Wait a minute. You’re the Ms. Davies that Glen was telling me about the other day?" She slightly turned around so that she was half way facing Glen too.

"Yeah, mom. That’s her." Glen replied like the little Mama’s boy he is.

"So you, were flirting with my daughter?" My mom was facing Ashley all the way again and was up in her face, now.

"No. I have no idea what he’s talking about." Boy, she’s a really good liar.

"I don’t believe you. Just because it’s been a few years since I’ve seen you doesn’t mean, I still know that you aren’t exactly a goody-goody who always tells the truth." Ashley laughed at this.

"Oh, Mrs. Carlin. You know me to well."

"If you are doing the same thing you used to do to me, to Spencer, I swear you’ll be sorry."

    "Woah, relax Mrs. C."

"Yes, Paula. I think you should calm down." My dad defended Ashley.

"Don’t tell me to calm down. Don’t you remember her?"

"Of couse I do. How could I forget? This is the girl that you came home talking about every day." He said with a chuckle.

"Because she made my teaching days at L.A Prep a living hell!"

"Now, Paula. It’s been almost, what, 7 years since then? Why don’t you give the girl a fresh start? She has even followed your footsteps. She’s now a teacher. Isn’t that right, Ashley?" Now, he was beside my mom instead of behind her.

"Yeah, Mr. C. That is 100 percent right. Your wife acually inspired me." My dad chucked.

"I always liked you. You can call me Arthur. And I’m sure Paula wouldn’t mind if you called her by her first name."

"Acually…" My mom cut in, but my dad gave her that look that said, Don’t even go there or I’ll put you in the dog house. My mom hesitantly changed her tone of voice. " That would be just fine." She gave Ashey a big, fake smile.
