Secrets Of Life – (Chapter: Chapter Ten)

Spencer walked down the stairs with the biggest smile on her face. What Ashley had done for was was incredibly…well incredible. Glen and Clay followed her. Both of them knew why she was so happy. But only Glen knew every detail, considering he talked to both of the girls before and after.

"Morning kids." Arthur popped his head out of the kitchen and glanced at the 3 teens at the bottom of the stairs. "Spencer, you look really happy today."
"Yeah." She blushed. Glen and Clay looked at each other and grinned. Glen put his arm around Spencer’s shoulders and squeezed her playfully. Arthur looked a bit confused but was happy that they were finally getting along. He didn’t want to pry but as a father he absolutely had to know why his daughter had that goofy little lovestruck grin on her face. And then a lightbulb went off. She was in love.
"Ok, Ok, Ok. Who is it, Spence?"
"What do you mean?" Spencer sat down at the table and grabbed an apple.
"You have that lovestruck grin on her face. Who is it?"
"Give ya three guesses" Arthur thought about this.

Aiden? No, it couldn’t be. Whenever he was mentioned Glen and Spencer would fume with anger. And when Ashley was around she would involuneteerily (sp?) flinch. Maybe Ashley would know…ASHLEY!

"Ashley." It was more of a statement than a question. "You and Ashley." Glen and Clay smiled. Spencer’s face got beet red.
"Yeah." She smiled wider, although the boys thought it wasnt humanly possible, and gave her signature head-tilt. Arthur stood absolutely still. Spencer began to grow nervous and her smile fell from her face. She avoided his eyes. She feared disappointed. Especially if she disappointed her father.

"Bout damn time!" He broke out in a big smile. Spencer ran over and hugged him.
"Thank. You. So. Much." She whispered in his ear.
"I’m just glad that you’re happy."
"How do you think mom will take it?"
"Wel…" Spencer braced herself. "You see, when you guys first became close friends. We made a bet on how long it would take. "Spencer’s jaw dropped." And who would make the first move. She seems to have won the bet on how long. But…who made the first move."
"Wel…" Spencer explained the story but left out the parts about Aiden and others.
"So you spilled your heart first?"
       "Yeah."
       "Damn it, she won again."
"So, what do you have to do?"
"I have to eat brunch with her mom every Sunday for a month."
"Damn." "Ouch." "Eww" Were the kids responses
"Tell me about it. And I have to pay for our second honeymoon."
       "That doesn’t sound too bad."
"A cruise, a week in hawaii. Everything has to be first class."
"Day-um. we are going to go bankrupt." Glen stated, surprised.
       "Yeah, I know."
