She’s into me, Right? – (Chapter: Innocent Flirting and Small Talk)

Ashley walked into the little restaurant like she owned it. All eyes turned to her including Spencer’s and Aiden’s. She took her time and sauntered to the counter. Every single male eye, and Spencer’s, watched her appraisingly. Spencer shook her head trying to come to a conclusive answer as to why she was ogling the sexy brunette. It was obvious that she was hot, every single guy in the place would attest to that, but it just wasn’t Spencer’s usual response. Unlike high school, she was sure of herself in this place, nothing could faze her. Why was it then, that all of a sudden she felt like she was the new girl in school, completely overwhelmed? Spencer looked around her for some more coffee. Something, anything, to calm her down.

Behind her was someone’s untouched mug. It was sitting still, waiting to be taken. Quickly, in the blink of an eye really, the cup of pure caffeine was in her hand, half empty. When Spencer turned back to look at the feminine form at the front counter, there was a paper cup in one of Ashley’s hand and in the other was a bagel. She gracefully turned from the greasy person manning the register, who was dazzled. She glanced around the place looking understandably smug with herself, but when her eye caught Spencer’s the look diminished. It was more curious and definitely more interested in her than in the dinner customers. Spencer who had been staring the whole time with a wide eyed expression managed to return a shaky smile. It was just as shaky as her hands, although she wasn’t so sure if it was completely the coffee’s fault now.

Ashley walked over to both Aiden and Spencer, a tad bit more deliberately than when she had walked in. Ashley bit her lip to hold back a laugh. They both had the most ridiculous looks on their faces. Aiden looked like her was going to pee his pants and Spencer…

Her eyes had a glint to them, full of secret meaning, but the rest of her face. Ashley shook her head. Spencer’s lips were quivering in an unsure smile, and there seemed to be a hidden twitch under her right eye. Ashley glanced at the table and saw 3 empty mugs in front of Spencer. She raised her eyebrow and looked at Aiden. He had noticed the look she was giving him and just shrugged his shoulders.
