Ship of Dreams
The man led Carlisle and the rest of us to our stateroom. There were maids ready to help us unpack. Carlisle graciously thanked them for their generosity, but told them we did not require assistance until dinner. They nodded their heads and left us to look around.
The stateroom was much to fancy for my taste. Jasper, Alice, Rosalie, and Emmett went through the doors to the their rooms. I could hear Alice squealing as Jasper helped her unpack all of her clothing and accessories. Everyone was unpacking, but Alice always made a big deal about these things. She had to have everything in the perfect place. Plus, she had double the amount of bags Rose had, and Rose had double the amount of everyone else.
I went to my room, where my bags had already been taken to, and immediately unpacked everything at vampire speed. I went out on our private deck while I tried to concentrate on blocking out the minds of everyone on board. This was going to be a long trip, and I knew it, just by looking at the ocean.
Bella POV
“Isabella!” My father called to me. It was early in the morning, way too early. I ran down the steps, still in my nightgown, to find my dad waiting for me.
“I got a new job!” He yelled.
“Father, that’s wonderful!” I yelled as I jumped in his arms to hug him. He swung me around and placed me on my feet.
“There’s a downside daughter,” I looked at him questionably, he sighed and smiled, “It is in America so we will have to travel. I have tickets already.”
I didn’t want to ruin my father’s happiness so I told him it was great. He told me to pack and hurry. We had two hours and a half-hour commute. Everything else that we left would be shipped to America for us on the boat his new boss was leaving on in a week. We’d have to survive off of whatever we had, but I didn’t mind.
We were second-class. No one looked highly of you unless you were in first-class. I didn’t worry though. Third-class meant rats and first-class meant maids and annoying people who wanted to serve your every whim. Second-class was just perfect. My father held his hand out as I got out of the car. I graciously took it, but managed to stumble getting out. As usual, my father chuckled and kept me from falling. The crew was taking our few bags on the ship. I looked up at it. The Titanic was amazing. My father had told me that the company was sending him on the Titanic as a gift for saving them and filling the job position. My father told me that his new boss mentioned that the Titanic was ‘elegant’ and ‘unsinkable’. It was the ship of dreams… to everyone else. To me it was a slave ship, taking me back to America in chains. Back to where my mother lived, after she abandoned us. I left there to come back to my father who was crushed by my mother’s abandonment when I was ten. I had taken care of my father since, never going out, just reading stories and cooking dinner. Outwardly I was everything a well brought up girl should be. Inside, I was screaming. My father led me up towards the boat. I noticed the children, who were leaning over the rail, waving to various people, alongside their parents and other adults. The infamous Titanic, and I was getting on it.
