We didn’t go to the party that night, or even get a hotel room. We just stayed up, talking about how we wanted to decorate the loft, reminiscing about past times, and dreaming up our future.

A LOOK INTO THE FUTURE

Ashley: “Come on little man.” She says putting Carter in his car seat.

Carter: “Mommy, where we go?” He asks Spencer.

Spencer: “To see grandma and grandpa.”

Carter: “Eden be der?”

Spencer: “Yes, Uncle Aiden said he would bring her.”

Spencer and Ashley have been together for ten years now. They went to UCLA together and got married after graduation. They are both 28 now. Spencer and Ashley have a two year old little boy who is biologically both Spencer’s and Ashley’s son. They named him Carter Davies-Carlin, he has Spencer’s blue eyes and Ashley’s brunette hair. Spencer and Ashley kept in contact with their friends. Aiden married Julia and they now have a daughter named Eden. Eden is also two. Lori and Michelle were an on again off again thing. Right now, they’re currently together. Trevor cheated on Melissa in college, Melissa moved away, but often comes back to visit, and Trevor is a bartender. Christine and Mark are still married. Jake lived with his grandpa but moved back to New York and went to NYU but was later kicked out for cheating on tests.

They get to the door and ring the bell.

Paula: “Well hey! How’s my favorite grandson?” She says picking up Carter.

Carter: “Gran!” He giggles, hugging her neck. Paula kisses him on the cheek and laughs.

Carter: “Where Eden?” They all chuckle. They walk into the house and stand in the foyer.

Paula: “She’s in the living room, opening up her Christmas present. Why don’t you go open yours with her.” She puts him back down and he runs into the living room.

Spencer: “Hey mom, how are you?” They hug.

Paula: “Oh, I’m doing good. Ashley, your mom and Mark are here. Oh and Aiden and Julia are too, Lori is on her way over with Michelle.”

Ashley: “Great, I can’t wait to see them.”

Paula: “So how are you two?”

Spencer: “We’re fine. Carter woke us up this morning, jumping on the bed.” They chuckle.

Paula: “Well, he is your son. I remember you two doing the same thing.” She smiles.

Ashley: “Spencer still does it.”

Spencer: “Hey!” They all laugh.

Paula: “Your father’s in the kitchen, getting Christmas dinner ready. Why don’t you two sit and talk with everyone.” They disperse into the living room, say hi to everyone then go to the kitchen.

Spencer: “Hey dad!” She says excited. He wipes his hands on his ‘Kiss The Chef’ apron.

Arthur: “Spence!” He says hugging her.

Ashley: “Hi mom.” She smiles and hugs Christine, then Spencer hugs her and Ashley hugs Arthur.

Christine: “Hey, where’s my grandson?” She asks Spencer.

Spencer: “He’s in the living room playing with Eden.” After talking with them, Spencer and Ashley go to the living room and talk to Aiden and Julia.

Ashley: “So tell us again why you named her Eden.” She says with a slight chuckle.

Julia: “Aiden and his ego. You know, Eden and Aiden sound similar, and he wanted her name to sound like his, so he loved the name right away.” He blushes and they laugh.

Aiden: “Hey! She’s beautiful like her daddy.” Julia elbows him. “And mom.” He says covering his tracks.

Aiden: “Besides, the name was my idea, and I think we all remember that.” He says looking at Spencer and Ashley.

Spencer: “Yeah, I remember that day in Family Life Class.”

Ashley: “You and Trevor argued a lot that day.” They chuckle. Ashley and Spencer turn their attention to Carter and Eden.

Spencer: “Ash. They’re just like us when we were little.” She says in awe.

Eden: “I like you teddy.” She says in a small voice.

Carter: “Here, you have it.” He says, handing her the teddy bear. Ashley and Spencer smile at them.

Ashley: “Yeah, hopefully they won’t have to go through all the obstacles we went through.”

Spencer: “I don’t know Ash. I think it makes the relationship stronger.” She says smiling at Ashley. Ashley smiles and kisses Spencer.

Aiden: “So, after all these years, is the fire still burning?” Spencer and Ashley smile at each other.

Spencer: “More than ever.” She says looking into Ashley’s eyes. They both smile lovingly at one another.
