Since Birth – (Chapter: 87: Don't Say Goodbye)

    ASHLEY’S P.O.V.

I was waken up by my mother at seven thirty a.m. telling me we had to be ready by nine. I woke Spencer up and we got cleaned up and went to the kitchen only to find no one was there. It’s 8:45, we go to the front and see everyone is outside.

Arthur: “You sure you guys can’t wait around a while and have breakfast with us?” He asks my mom and Mark. Paula is over there with them. Jake is here, just loitering around everywhere.

Mark: “No, sorry. We really have to head out, this traffic is gonna be a killer and we have to be at the airport by ten.”

Spencer and I are on the porch alone.

Ashley: “Mom’s car is already going to New York. You have to keep my car, I can’t take it with me.” I take her hand, pull the keys from my pocket and place them in her hand, closing her fingers over them.

Ashley: “I was planning on teaching you how to drive, but it doesn’t look like that’s gonna happen. Someone else will teach you. But be careful with it, I love that car, and you already know why.” She smirks and kisses my cheek.

Spencer: “I’ll be careful.” She puts the keys in her pocket. “And remember, no matter what, you call me everyday. If you don’t, then I’ll call you and fuss about you not calling.” She laughs tearfully.

Ashley: “I promise.” I say, taking both of her hands into mine.

Spencer: “I hate this. I don’t know if I can do this.” She says becoming a bit panicked.

Ashley: “I hate it too. Believe me, I don’t want to move.” She sniffles and leans in kissing me on the lips softly. Spencer lets out a sob through the kiss but we continue. She places her hands on the sides of my face and kisses me all over.

Jake: “God, you two are acting like the world is ending.” I ignore his ignorance, because to us, the world is ending.

Spencer’s breath hitches as she throws her arms around my neck hugging me tightly. I hug her back just as tight, never wanting to let this go, never wanting this to end, never wanting her to become just a distant memory.
