Singing Bridges (We All Fall) – (Chapter: I promise you I wont change a thing)

    CHAPTER SIX

Ashley had recovered nicely, no more bruises covering her body and all her wounds healed. Spencer had stopped by every now and then, but Paula refused to let her in to see Ashley. Spencer caught sight of Natalie, but never knew who she was because every time she asked Paula, she would be ignored.

At school, Ashley was alone. But she didn’t feel alone because she had Natalie. Natalie didn’t go to King so it was a little lonely for Ashley at brunch and lunch, but she would text Natalie as much as possible during school hours. The two brunettes were attached to their phones during the hours they weren’t together. Spencer would notice that Ashley’s face would light up when her phone would vibrate indicating a text.

A few days after Ashley returned to King, Spencer ran into her in the hallways with Madison and the other cheerleaders. “Watch it, dyke.” Ashley didn’t say anything but just looked at Spencer. Spencer couldn’t look at Ashley, though. It hurt too much, but Spencer would never admit that she missed the small brunette standing in front of her. “Did you hear me, dyke? I said, what the fuck are you looking at!? She doesn’t want you, she never did. Just stop wasting air and drop dead already.” Spencer looked up at Ashley and noticed the tears forming in the chocolate eyes.

“What, are you going to start crying now? Who are you going to cry for? Huh? You’re mommy and daddy? Oh wait, that’s right… you don’t have them anymore, do you? No, they think you’re a piece of shit and a waste of space. How convenient, they were right.” Ashley tried to walk away, but Madison grabbed her arm with such force it made Ashley wince in pain and fear. “Don’t you ever walk away from me, you fucking dyke. Who do you think you are? Just take in everything I say and maybe then you’ll finally agree and do something useful like kill yourself.” Spencer couldn’t believe what Madison was saying.

“Maddy stop it. Leave her alone now. You already did enough damage a few weeks ago. Just stop already.” Madison looked over at Spencer. “You’re defending her!? Why Spencer? She’s gay. She needs to die. Gay’s are horrible! They’re going to take over the world if we don’t get rid of them now!” “Maddy, being gay isn’t a disease! You’re being so fucking ridiculous.” Madison took a step forward. “Hmm… I see you’re views have changed… maybe I should go talk to your mommy.” Spencer laughed, “It doesn’t matter Madison. She wouldn’t believe you, or care for that matter.” Madison moved closer to Spencer, “Watch what you say Spencer. You know that I can make everything you’ve ever had, disappear.”
