"Stop, I’ll get it."  She moves forward and tries to push me back so she can clean it up.

"No,"  I hold the wheels so they can’t move, "I can clean this up by myself.  I don’t need your help."

"But, you’re…"

"I’m what?  Crippled?  Yeah I know that Ashley.  I have to get used to doing things like this by myself.  I don’t need someone babysitting me."  She backs off and watches as I clean up the mess.

"How long will you be like this?"  She stutters out.

"Forever.  Well that what the doctors say, but Lee says different."  I smile a little thinking about Lee and Ashley notices.

"Who is Lee and what is she to you?"  She huffs out like she has the right to be mad.

"Ashley stop right there.  You think you have the right to be mad while you have been off fucking Aiden."  I barely keep myself from screaming.

"It’s not like that."  She tries to defend herself.

"How is it then because I have no idea what is going on in your head."  Do I really want to know.

"I was going to lose him.  I didn’t think I would lose you and we haven’t been fucking!" 

"So the romantic getaway was what, a chance for you guts to knit some booties?"  I sarcastically reply.  Did she think I was born yesterday?  "And the way Kyla talks you guys are always all over each other.  It makes her want to throw up and me."  I decide I really don’t want to know any of this.

"I…I…"  She doesn’t know what to say.  That’s when I notice something in her eyes.  Something Lee said would be in a lot of peoples’ eyes.  I just never really thought I would see it is Ashley’s.  Pity, she feels sorry for me.  That’s why she is here.  Is that why she broke up with Aiden?  I don’t care, I don’t want to see it anymore,

"GET THE FUCK OUT!"  I scream scaring the shit out of Ashley.  I roll over to her hitting her legs with my chair.

"What the fuck Spence, that hurts, stop it."  She yelps while trying to avoid me.

"I don’t want your goddam pity.  You feel sorry for me, I feel sorry for you.  You are the one that is pathetic.  Get out of here, go back to Aiden, if he will take you."  I keep rushing her until I get her close enough to the door.  I open it and she jumps out when I run over her toes.

"It isn’t like that.  I love you."  I look at her for a second and realize that the words sound hollow.

"That may be, but your pity for me outweighs that and I just don’t want to deal with your shit or drama."  I state and shut the door on her shocked face.  I still feel love for Ashley, but she is making it easy for me to stop.
