South of Somewhere – (Chapter: Chapter Nine- Good Morning)
“Oooo… Somebody’s in troubleeee….” Teased Ashley with a grin, moving towards Spencer and looping her fingers through the belt loops of her jean mini skirt. Pulling the very willing Spencer towards her she laughed lightly, pressing their forehead together, “I suppose you want me to give you a ride home then.” Ashley spoke, releasing an exaggerated sigh.
A laugh escaped Spencer as she rolled her eyes, her hands lifting and clasping loosely behind her neck, “Mmhm….” She replied, chin tilting forward to brush a soft kiss just below Ashley’s lips. After pausing a moment just simply to enjoy the happiness that was surging through her, she then pulled away, leading the way towards the front door. “You ready to go?” She called over her shoulder, hand resting on the door knob.
Ashley smiled, just watching Spencer walk away before she nodded, jogging a bit to catch up before following Spencer out the door. It felt so right, being around her. How could she had possibly ever doubted their love? Why was she so destructive, always pushing those closest to her away, “Davies, you need help.” Ashley muttered to herself, out of earshot from Spencer who was strolling behind her towards her car.
Once the two were both inside the car, they drove back to Spencer’s home, exchanging casual conversation on the way there. Parking across the street Ashley looked over at Spencer, reluctant as ever to be saying good bye. It was clear Spencer was thinking the same thing too as she hadn’t even unbuckled her seat belt yet. Finally, with a great sigh, Spencer undid her seat belt, reached across the car to give Ashley a firm hug, “Call me later, okay?” She requested, feeling Ashley nod as their two cheeks brushed together.
Exiting the expensive car she made her way for the door, glancing over her shoulder and giving a small wave and a grin before slipping silently inside. But, her temporary paradise was quickly shattered by the glaring expression on her mother’s face, “Look what the cat dragged in.” Paula began, her hand resting on her hip. Still smiling ever so slightly she shrugged, “I’m sorry mom.”
Paula opened her mouth to continue her lecture by paused, noting the rather glow-y look on Spencer’s face. Normally this wouldn’t have been a big deal, but Spencer had spent the entire last week looking more depressed than she’d ever seen. Now she appeared to be quite content, her eyes glowing as she tried to smother her rather amused expression, “Spencer…. Have you been talking to Ashley?”
